Moxie Fab World

There are some of the best challenges over at Moxie Fab World

Like this one called Don't Throw it Away!

That is me! I save packaging, boxes, all sorts of  things wondering how I might put them to use.

For example, I saved this plastic package from a punch. And here I used it on a card. I cute circles and then used my heat gun to kind of melt them into flowers. It is a fun technique and they look very unusual.

Thank you Fiskateers!

I want to thank each and every one of you who stopped here and left a comment!!! I don't think I have ever had so many visitors! The hop was so much fun with great  inspiration every step of the way!

For some reason, I cannot copy and past the Random Generator but out of 55 comments, the winner was 12
and that is

Debby Lewis!

I will be in touch with you for your address!

Welcome to the Fiskateers Spring Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Fiskateers Spring Blog Hop.  You should have come from

If you are hopping into the middle of our blog hop and you are a Fiskateer, you can start here  at the Fiskateer website http://www.fiskateers.com/

If  you are thinking a “Fiskawhat?”, you should know that Fiskateers  (http://www.fiskateers.com/) is an online community of craftiness (paper crafts, sewing, gardening, etc.) all based around our love and appreciation of Fiskars (think orange-handled scissors to start).  There is a blog, gallery, and message board led by four lovely Lead Fiskateers who along with the other Fiskateers are fabulous at getting creativity flowing via chats, challenges, on-line crops, and interviews with other crafty celebrities.  If you would like to join in the inspiration of Fiskateers, or would like to learn more, check out this link on the website    Join
To start at the beginning, go to  Kelly's for a complete list of blog hop stops.

We’ll be hopping all weekend , March 24th  and 25th  to welcome spring!   Some Fiskateers are offering prizes so check their directions carefully to participate.
The blog hop officially ends on Sunday March 25th at 11pm CST.
Last week my daughter successfully defended her Dissertation for her PhD. Of course, I had to scrap that moment. I surprised her by having a friend buy a bottle of  champagne to have once she returned to her apartment.

I used my favorite Notebook border punch as well as the Peacock Corner Punch.
Did you know that the Fiskars SureCut Scrapbooking Paper Trimmer has a lifetime warranty? I did not know that until I sent them a question about my guide wire fraying. In less than a week I had a new replacement part which was easy to install!
Now that is great service!!
I want to thank you for stopping by! I'd love to have you sign up as follower. I will be sending a small RAK  to a person chosen from those who comment AND are followers. I will choose that name first thing Monday morning.  Just answer this question ..............

What was your first Fiskars tool?
I have a pair of pinking scissors that are probably 25 years old! Have no idea where I got them but  they are still in my desk.

The next stop on the Hop is Debby #2852.

Thank you for stopping!!

My new fave

I love this photo of Rob. It was taken as he collapsed on his new bed in his new apartment where he moved shortly after he got his job after graduation. It  just kind of summed everything up.

If It's Groovy

I have a DT blog post up over at If It's Groovy

http://ifitsgroovy.blogspot.com/

The challenge was acrostic scrapping and here is my layout I used Winter which means

Walking in Natural Trails enjoying Rockford.

We have done quite a bit of walking this winter. Our town is very pretty and there is always the corner hot dog stand:)

Inspired by a Sweethaven Summer

I have enjoyed reading about Courtney Walsh's new book A Sweethaven Summer. Here is a link to her blog

http://courtneywalsh.typepad.com/telling_stories/.

Courtney offered a challenge to complete a project inspired by some of the topics in her book. I was inspired by the layout Memory Keeper. I feel it is my job to document memories so my children can enjoy and appreciate them as they get older. Unfortunately, my kids were born in 1983 and 1988 - well before the days of digital cameras. Even then I was the exception, taking lots of photos but now I think not nearly enough. And we would have to wait to get the prints developed to see if the photo was any good or not. This is one of my favorite snapshots of my daughter as I caught her reflection in the glass. Even at this age, she was focused, determined, strong willed. I do not remember if she was looking at someone or just the future. But, I will remember this photo as we sit in the stadium in May as receives her Doctoral degree!

Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge

This Tuesday trigger was perfect

http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/02/cure-for-winter-blues-challenge.html

Love the colors! Here is my take. I got a photo of my daughter and husband as we hunted for the perfect Christmas tree. The sky was cloudy and gray and we were in a forest. This photo seemed perfect for this paper.
