Crafting with Corks

We used corks at my daughter's wedding for table number holders, place card holders, etc. I still have quite a few left so I made this..........................

Helmar's 450 to hold it all together. Deco Arts Americana paint for color.

Engagement photos - Round 2

My son is getting married in June! Yesterday I tagged along for the engagement photos. I think we laughed from start to finish. Keep in mind my shots are just quick catches as the photographer was changing her camera or position. I did not want to get in the way or have them looking at me when they should have been looking at her. Once they were done, we met her mom and my husband for dinner. What a  fun day!

Gelli Plate Fun

Just finished Carolyn Dube's One Pull Wonder Class!

I had so much fun learning all the things I could do with my Gelli Plate. This fun effect was created with corn tops and corks with acrylic paint! Such a fun result.

Painting

I am becoming quite the artist! hahahaha. Yes - me.

I am taking Radiant Faces - a class taught by nine different inspiring teachers and it is all about faces! For me this a huge challenge! I am not an artist and can't draw anything BUT I am trying and learning!

I am going to share a few of the first lessons.
Lesson one was from Jane Davenport and was about Nymphs. As you can see I need much more work to accomplish these!

Lesson 2 was by Tamara Laporte and was about your inner girl. My sister wanted me to make her into a halloween girl so I did.

Lesson 3 was a She Art girl from Christy Tomlinson.

So, I cannot wait to see what else I will create!

Supplies- Deco Art paints and  Decopauge.

Krylon Mystery Box

I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive a KRYLON MYSTERY BOX! In it were 2 cans of Short Cuts Craft paint, 2 large white fabric squares, bulap, buttons and a wood crate from Walnut Hollow. I had never tried these paints before but found them fun and easy to use! They worked well on the fabric, the wood and the burlap!

I decided to use the fabric to make a pillow. I grabbed some oak leaf branches from our tree to use as a stencil. I first sprayed the fabric brown then used the blue over the leaves. I also made a border on the burlap. Here it is all put together. What a fun project!

I decided to turn the crate into a paintbrush holder for my desk. I sprayed it brown and then drilled holes to hold the brushes. I used a stencil with the blue paint for a design and even sprayed some chipboard alphabets.

I will buy more of these paints! They are wonderful to have for crafts!

Happy Halloween

It was time for a new canvas for the front hallway. Since it is October I thought a Halloween one would be perfect! And this is perfect for PCC Monday's inspiration.

Unfortunately my computer is down and I am limited to my IPad so I cannot do links and things- have not mastered that yet.
I actually painted the pumpkin on kleenex which I then adhered to the canvas. Stencil the ravens and quote.

Clearprint Cross Country Journal

Through a friend I heard about the Clearprint Cross Country Journal project. If you go here you can see all the journals making their way Cross Country. This journal has vellum pages and I wanted to come up with an idea to use both the front and the back of the page. I decided to do a mixed media type of project. I painted the sky on the back page and made the stars on the front but each shows through to the other side.

I used a variety of products including Deco Art Americana Paints, Deco Art Modeling Paste, Magicals by Lindysstamp gang.

This was a fun challenge for me. At first I was intimidated by the art in the book but am happy with this piece which is very me.

I am Back but will be Leaving:):)
