Most Wanted

I made the Most Wanted list over at ColorStoriesinspiration!

""Each week, five layouts that caught our eye will be chosen to feature as our "Most Wanted." With so many amazing layouts in the gallery, it was incredibly hard to narrow the "lineup" down to five, but here they are, in no particular order""

This was the layout I completed about Bandit!

Gotta get back to my Christmas album!

I set aside my Christmas album to work on other things and never got back to it. I really need to make time to do this!

This sketch from Letsgetsketchy was perfect for this page!

I used washi tape for the corners

It was Shawn's first time in Michigan for Christmas. We introduced him to all of our traditions including tree hunting, bestowing of the ornament, and the light show!

Another Tradition

Besides photos with Santa, we were diligent about photos with the Easter Bunny. The local Hallmark store had the Crayola Bunny there one year so off we went to get pictures with him!

I am using this sketch from LetsGetSketchy

Here is my layout using my wonderful kit from FROSTED DESIGNS!

I added a few Color Wash items from pink Paislee and the pearls from my stash.

Baskets and bonnets

Using the sketch from My Scraps and More

Dug out an OLD photo circa 1992

Added some old Easter stickers to my Frosted Design Kit. They were too white so I went back and added a color wash with my Koi Waterbrush and Distress Inks.

Listen

I want to thank Carolyn Dube for her ever inspiring and inisghtful videos and blog posts.

She was talking about listening to the art and she feels that OOPS are just opportunities.

I struggle as an "artist". I was not the artistic twin, that was my sister. A year or so ago I started some mixed media canvases which I unfortunately shared with my sister. Pretty soon she had completed some amazing pieces of art while mine felt like a grade schoolers work. I joined Mixed Media Monday nights and have continued to paint and play. The group is so encouraging and inspiring. Of late though, I have been struggling. I felt like I was in a rut. That everything looked the same. That I could not complete the new things some of my friends were. I was attempting to make a card - a simple birthday card. I tried 4 or 5 techniques and wasted much paper and paint. Finally I began to listen. Take a breath, take a step back, don't try so hard. I remembered this cute stamp that I had. So i grabbed it and my watercolors and a Koi water brush. Next thing I knew I had these cute girls. Just the thought of doodling the frame was enough to make me quit but I took a breath, grabbed a ruler and drew the frame, then just put the pen to the paper. It did not matter that each loop was not perfect. This is what doodling is! I listened. I had fun and it came together so easily.

So I hope to continue to listen and embrace my oops!

Thanks for listening!

Another One

Friday night my son proposed to his girlfriend. We all knew it was coming sometime. Unlike my daughter, he did not include the parents in the event!! We did have dinner with them the next night though.

Don't they just look so happy?! He spent three hours picking out the ring with a buddy.

I am so proud of him! He is working as a computer job he loves, he owns his own home and now he is engaged!! Not bad for a 25 year old!!

Fabulous

My good friend Sandee has videos every Sunday over at Frosted Designs. This week not only did she create a wonderful art journal page but she had an interactive element to the page!

Here is the link to her video . I long for days when I could write like she does!

When I saw Steph's Magazine Monday inspiration at PCC  I knew just what I wanted to make!
Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays - Week Thirty-Eight Inspiration Piece (image)

I had this old calendar with this girl and quote on the cover. I cut her out and modge podged  her to my background.  I added some stamps as well. I added a quote to the back side which reads "The real secret to a fabulous life is to live imperfectly and with great delight!"

Thanks Sandee for always pushing me!!! Thanks Steph for the weekly inspiration!

Frosted Designs is sponsoring this month's challenge over at Scrapourstash !! How exciting!

The challenge is to complete a layout using red and or pink and include

S -- stitching (faux or real)
W-- washi
A -- Arrow

Here is my layout using the last sheet of paper from my January kit!

For some reason I could not get the layout to photograph straight:( I hand stitched with a marker around the edges of the layout!

I hope you stop over at Frosted Designs and Scrapourstash and play along!!

Moxie Fab World is also having a Happy for Hexagons challenge so I am playing along there too!

I am posting  this  for Jot's Mood Board Challenge. The Teresa Collins papers were a perfect match!

Love Smiles!

I joined Tracy's Mixed Media Monday's a couple o weeks ago. Tracy was kind enough to include me in her post about it. This was my take on her painting. Both of my kids are in love and that make me smile!

I completed this in an old book that I use for journaling. I used modeling paste for texture and painted and stenciled. Used an old hotel key card for the black lines in the corners. Stamped title.

Entering this in Anything But a Card Tic Tac toe challenge. I used red, black and hearts!
