Housebound

Being one the millions of people who have been hit with this Polar Vortex, I have only left the house once since Saturday. So to keep busy I am scrapping. I should be cleaning but I will get to that today or tomorrow.

My 21 month old granddaughter has classes every day of the week. Her mom stays home with her so this is her chance to socialize and learn other activities!

I shared that Monday is swim. Tuesday is dance and Wednesday is art.

Dance has turned out to be not as much dance as we hoped but Lauren loves the activities and enjoys wearing her leotard which I had to get for her:)

Art is a wonderful class. The teacher has them working with paint, clay, slime and more. They complete 3 - 4 projects a week. I just adore the aprons! I even made a portfolio and included photos of her art work.

Monday

I am beginning a series layouts of my granddaughter's daily activities. On Mondays she attends swimming classes.

She is pretty proficient at jumping in and swimming to the wall but is not a fan of floating quietly on her back for 10 seconds. She is a very active kiddo so this is torture for her. She has a very patient teacher.

I am on a roll! Scrapping some of last year's holidays with my granddaughter!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Used another sketch to get me going! This one from SketchNScrap

And here is my layout!

I added the pink stripes to the background by using a watercolor brush. Love how it turned out!

Our Lil Pumpkin

HAd fun with our granddaughter at the Pumpkin Patch this year!

USed this sketch from Stickitdown

Here is my layout

I have covered her face to comply with her mother's wishes not to put her photo on line. I appreciate your understanding about that. This was a fun sketch and I decided to take advantage of a paper that had small square images on it from G45.

Thank you for visiting! I appreciate your kind words!

Friday!

Well, we have made it to another Friday! I am not quite sure where the week, or month for that matter, has gone!

I do know I have been trying to do some cleaning and organizing in my creative room. I am trying to get away from calling it a craft room because it is so much more:) I sorted pens and markers by colors and threw away old dried up ones. I also displayed filled watercolor brush markers on my desk with the hopes of using them more. I sorted through the bins of Scrapbook papers and got rid of some I will never use.

I even managed to scrap a layout! It was fun to get back into it.

I also painted an ATC. The topic was dream. I used watercolor inks and white ink which ended up being a bit tacky. But I went with it anyway. I like the effect.

Tree Hunt 2018

Ever since my daughter was born (35 years ago) we have gone out and hunted for the perfect tree to be chopped down. Once my son came along, the trip usually entailed snowball fights, arguing, complaining - everything to make it a perfect family outing:):) Once both kids got married and one moved far away, it was difficult for my husband to tackle this chore by ourselves. It was just no fun. We were so happy to have our granddaughter visiting over Thanksgiving so we could take her for her first tree hunt.

I was inspired by this sketch over at SketchNScrap

And here is my layout

Bo Bunny's Candy Cane Lane paper was perfect.

I have blurred my granddaughter's face per my daughter's request not to post her photo online. Even though she was quite bundled up, Lauren enjoyed wandering the fields but she didn't care about the trees. Instead she was focused on the tractors and cried when we had to leave them.

Thanks for visiting! I appreciate your kind words!
