It is Friday!!

Congrats! We made it to Friday! I don't know where the week went but I spent it catching up from having my daughter and her family here. Chasing a 19 month old around is hard work!

I did spend time this week at my desk working on a mixed media canvas for a friend. I started a tradition about 4 years ago, of making her one for Christmas. We stopped by their house last week and she showed me her nutcracker room filled. Ever table if filled with them. I immediately knew what I wanted to do.

I drew the larger nutcracker on watercolor paper and painted him using various paints. The papers are from G45. I added bits of gold foil paper, stamping, etc. 

I think she will like it.

Ornament

I happened to see this on facebook last year and was reminded to do it again this year. It is an ornament for my granddaughter. The ribbon tied to the ornament, is how tall she is at Christmas this year. She can save them and see how big she was each year!

Love using scraps of paper with a vellum overlay for this!

We went to a family friend to get my granddaughter's first haircut. Really she just need the bangs trimmed up and the back evened out. The girl we went to used to style my daughter's hair for prom and even cut her hair to donate charity.

My daughter held her daughter in her arms and Johanna trimmed Lauren's hair. She made it such a great experience. Lauren didn't even flinch or cry.

As we got ready to pay, she told us it was free. I sent her this thank you card today.

I Hate to Waste Paint

I made a couple of paint pouring pictures and had a bit of paint left in the cup. I hated to throw it away. Remembering that I needed an ornament for an exchange with the local art group, I grabbed a small canvas and poured onto that. Some glittery snowflakes and ribbon completed the ornament!

I am happy with the result. I hope who ever gets it likes it too!

For those who visited last week and saw my projects for the art sale, I am pleased to report that I had my second best day ever! I sold about half of my cards, 4 mixed media canvases and a couple of other things. It truly makes me happy to see people buying my art. Thank you for all of your encouragement and support!!!!

Holiday Art Market

Tomorrow is my local art group's Holiday Art Market. I have spent the week finishing up last minute projects, starting new projects and then cleaning up the mess!

Here is most of what I am taking:

I hate to waste anything so I used the leftover paint to create necklaces with glass slides











And covered a box lid.

Now the goal is to come home with a lot less of this!!

Wedding card

A friend of mine recently married. Instead of buying a card, I painted this for them. I used her wedding colors of pink and gold as my inspiration. She loved it.

Since I was visiting my granddaughter, I did not gt much other artwork done, except for these Halloween canvases with my granddaughter's help:) They will be put together with ribbon for a halloween decor. At 18 months she is beginning to understand what paint is and after I did the ghost foot she told me "more":)
