Only 4 more days!

Jen will be home Saturday morning. Then the holidays can begin. Shortly after picking her up from the airport we will be trudging through the cold and snow to chop our tree down. We need to have the decorating finished before Grandpa gets here on Wednesday!

Love looking outside and seeing this

I love looking outside to see deer wandering through the yard eating shrubs and leaves. The dog isn't too happy about it, but I enjoy watching them!

Amusing.....

I could not figure out what was going on with my birdfeeder. Every day it was knocked over. Well, this afternoon my husband spotted this! Now we understand! Guess the chipmunks have been forced out by the squirrels. Poor birds. Don't think they ever get any food. He was hanging on with his front feet and dangling.

I love her sense of humor

My daughter has such a great sense of humor! At the aquarium we visited the penguin exhibit. In addition to some slides and stuff for kids, they had penguin costumes! Some were even adult sizes. Jen had to put one on!

Grateful for dandelions??

Who would have thought that we would be grateful for dandelions! But we are! It is Nov. 21, and temps were 60! We spent a few hours on the golf course where we saw a few dandelions mixed with leaves.

Rain showers

We cannot complain about the weather this November at all! So far there has been NO snow - a first for our area. The dog and I enjoyed a brisk walk yesterday in spite of the sprinkles coming down. I enjoyed the reflection in this puddle.

I am so lucky

I am so lucky that I have the time and the resources to be able to scrap. I may not be that good at it but I am trying to capture memories for my children. I hope they will look back at them and remember the times we had.

Such a blessing

I am blessed to live in a country where I can see, hear and read daily news that is not filtered or altered. Love my evening paper!

Giving thanks

I am thankful for a wonderful street where I can walk the dog every day!

I am thankful that the girls wanted to do a photo shoot in the park on Saturday. The evening was so warm and pleasant. Watch out America's Next top Model!!

Grateful for Time Together

I cannot tell you how much I treasure time with my kids especially since one of them is now in Arizona. So I jumped on the chance to meet up with Jen in Chicago where she had to be to attend a conference. Her best friend, Kristen, went with me. All of us had fun at the aquarium --

Who knew what a snuggle dog we would end up! Bandit just loves to be near people and will grab an end of the couch to join in on a nap.

Kathy M at Scraplove had a great idea of taking the Thankful threads such as are on FB but instead taking a photo daily.

I am so busy today! I have to finish design team projects for a crop this weekend and get ready to take the train tomorrow to Chicago. My daughter is going to be there for a conference and her best friend and I are going to visit her. In my rushing around, I stopped to enjoy the beautiful sunny day we are having. The light coming in the front hallway creates wonderful designs on the rug. I am so thankful for sun and not snow which is much more normal for November in Michigan!

What better way to showcase those birthday photos than with a frame! My challenge to you is to alter a frame. Paint the frame then start having fun. I used a fun paper for the bottom half of the frame, a ribbon border and then colorful buttons at the top. I made the candle out of chipboard and added balloon embellishments. There is no limit to what you can do!

Digital Camera Withdrawal

During our vacation my Nikon D40X suffered some injuries. It was accidentally knocked from the back of my chair to the floor which caused the flash to stop working. As I took it out in the plane on the last leg of the trip home, I found a piece of plastic broken off where the lens screws into the body. So it is now at the Nikon hospital where it will hopefully having surgery!

I am going to have to bring the film camera to the lake. That will be fine except how am I going to photograph my layouts to upload? Guess we will see how the cell phone's little camera works.

Vacation ---------

Where has this summer gone?? Thursday we fly out to Florida for my Father in law's 8oth birthday! From there we are off to Vegas for a few days, the Grand Canyon, Sedona and then to Phoenix! I am so excited to spend time with just the 4 of us! It gets harder and harder as the kids get older. Wednesday will be spent washing clothes and packing! Hope we can fit it all in!!

She did it Again

Jennifer was in Utah last weekend running another Ragnar Relay. Teams of 6 running 24 hours completed 188 miles! I admire her stamina and strength.

Can you Believe??

Can you believe my baby is 21! When did this happen. We are quite proud of the young man he is becoming. He is so happy to be working in the IT department of the company where his dad works. He is gaining valuable experience - including getting to work by 8am! He even signed up to play on the company coed softball tem. Rob has not played ball since he was 10 or 11!

Jennifer was able to snag a ticket to Arizon State's graduation where President Obama spoke. I watched in on line and took pictures from the computer. She thought his speech

was fantastic. She got some great photos of the entertainment (she arrived 4 hours before the ceremony) including Alice Cooper, the marksmen and the stadium.
