Another Card

I was lucky enough to win an envelope full of Unity Stamps! It was like Christmas as I oohed  and aahed over all of the designs! OF course, I had to make them a thank you note!! I decided to join the water color background trend. I spritzed the paper and then dropped paint. I dried that with the heat tool then added a darker color and dried that.

I appreciate opportunities to win and always thank the blog/manufacture when i get a prize. I have been doing this for several years now and love when I hear back from them after they received my card.

Playing

Still getting used to having Tuesdays and Thursdays off. Today I am having some play time then I need to clean up!

I am participating in a group with prompts to create every day. The topics vary widely and you can use any medium. Here are a couple I have done

This was anything goes - stamps and paint

This was fave techniques - includes paint, stamps, stencils

This was for collage - greats use of paper scraps

I admit I struggle with these. I find I spend too much time and often take hours to complete just one project! I need to work quicker and not overthink it.

Be Prepared

Jennifer was married in September and the photographer ( who was amazing) took over 1700 photos! I am just beginning to play with them!

I saw this sketch from Letscaptureourmemories

and was inspired to do this

I just love this shot of Jen as she was ready for the first look photos!

Also linking this up to the Redcarpetstudiochallengeblogspot to use something sparkly! (the hearts have glitter texture paste and some of the flowers are glittery)

Linking this to MIxedmediamc Something New  for the New Year Challenge. Last week I purchased Martha Stewart White Texture  and a tub of Sparkle Texture. I was surprised at how loose and runny the sparkle paste was. I ended up using it over the white paste. It did not work with stencils like I thought it would.

Thanks for stopping by! I would love if you would be a follower and sign up for emails!

Scrapping again!

I have hardly done any scrapping lately. Not sure why but I just wasn't into it. Well, I found some challenges to get me going!

Bandit celebrated his 14th birthday on Dec. 10th! It was just the 3 of us we partied anyway! Her enjoyed dinner - chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy and biscuits. Followed by a home made birthday cake complete with candles and singing.

The sketch is from Granddivascreativecorner

I also used the Tic Tac Toe on Rochellespears
I used the right column down - die cuts, 3 + pattern papers and gold.

And from Lovetoscrapchallengeblogspot I used Twine and stamping (gold hearts)

We enjoy each day we have with Bandit and I think he enjoyed his birthday!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Dare to be Different

I decided to make a card and I grabbed a Gelli Print piece of paper and this cute Itty Bitty Stamp from Unity. Once I stamped the birds, I cut them out and popped them off the card. I added watercolor for the sky and string and buttons for the line.

One Word

Tracy's  January dare is to use your one little word. My word again revolves around my art and art journaling and making canvases. I WILL  be BRAVE  and create and play and not worry about the negative voices or critics. I will jump in and try new techniques. I will draw. I will submit my work. I can do this!!

I used mists and stencils, water colors, stamps, punchinella,  and black pen.

I am also submitting this to SWAT Drill 47.

What is your word? Why did you choose it?

Thanks for stopping by!

I Scrapped!

It has been a while but I actually scrapped a layout! This was from this year's tree hunt. The tradition wads not quite what it used to be. Our daughter was not home for Christmas so we were missing her. I was only a couple weeks in with my knee replacement so was leary about hiking through the muddy, slippery field. My son took pity on me and joined us but we made it a quick hike and chose a much shorter tree than normal. It was still a very pretty tree.

I used this sketch from Nifty Pixels!

Tis the Season

Well, with the holiday gone, now it is the season of thank you notes. I have been working on them this morning. I played with a new embossing folder! I also tend to use up scraps for cards. These papers and piece of ribbon were perfect for this!

This scrap of paper I had was the perfect match for this challenge.

Please VOTE!

I recently completed a class called Radiant Faces. It was 9 wonderful lessons from 9 different artists all about faces. I consider myself artistically challenged and was so happy at how my works came out. Lesson 9 was by Joanne Sharpe and was a Doodle Girl. I loved mine and did something I would never ever have thought to do before. I entered it into an art contest. Luckily this is a public vote contest so I have as good a chance as anyone:)

I would LOVE it  if you would go vote!!

Art Contest

All you have to do it like Your Heart - this painting.
