Anything Goes

This week's challenge at Simonsays is Anything Goes --

Fall is not only back to school time but it was also back to dance class time. I remember those days of dropping Jen off and picking her up. Some years she took 3 or 4 classes so we were there a lot.
As my kids are now grown, I was missing those days. I made this ballerina as a mixed media canvis using tulle for the skirt.

This canvas is for sale. If interested please email me.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Fall is here

Thank you

I needed to make a few thank you cards for our art group so I grabbed some paints and inks and got to work

I outlined a leaf and then painted, inked, colored it. I added details by stamping using the back of the leaf.

Adding this to Simonsays Work it Wednesday to use Red, ORange, yellow, brown.

Thanks for visiting! I appreciate your kind words very much!

Mix and Match Pad: Sand and Sea

I am so lucky to live in a city where our local grocery store, MEIJER, carries a collection of Canvas Corp Brand Products!! It is such fun to be able to add these items to my grocery cart along with mile, eggs and hamburger:)

I wanted to create a special vacation album for dear friends who visited us this summer. The Mix and Match Pad: Sand and Saw was just what I needed to get this done!

Mix and Match Pad: Sand and Sea
This collection has 10 nautical prints, 2 burlap, 1 fabric sheet, 1 solid canvas, 1 kraft paper and 1 fluted paper. I think I used every single piece for this project!

I made a quick video to show you the entire project! Enjoy -

If you are looking to make an album this is a wonderful collection to use!
Thank you for visiting! I appreciate your kind comments.

Tis the Season

We just finished the fall art show so now I am preparing for the Holiday one. For this I usually prepare winter theme canvases. Snowmen are very popular

I use old scrapbook papers as well as texture paste and wood embellishments.

The perfect way to finish off these canvases is with Helmar Crystal Kote Gloss Varnish!

Rose Hips

My sister is quite the gardener and takes advantage of every plant and bush in her yard. While we were at the cottage with Beth and Rob, we stopped over to visit Jane. She was ready for us with measuring cups and scissors to go harvest rose hips. I had no idea what a rose hip was but Beth was overjoyed to not only pick them but to try her hand at making jelly with them. Rob was happy to carry the cup.

I used this sketch from the  DCWV September stack aholic challenge.

Adding this to HIMCR Challenge #267 to use three pattern papers. I actually used 4 papers from DCWV watercolor stack.

Vacation Memories

We had friends spend a weekend us with us at the cottage. We have not seen them in a year but that does not matter. We always pick up right where we left off. I finished and mailed this album to them today. A gift of our summer memories! I hope they like it!

This is the cover and a few of the inside pages.

Adding this to Simonsays Wednesday challenge to make a gift!

Hark the herald

Getting ready for the Holiday Art show!

I was inspired by the Christmas Carol Hark the Herald as I created this angel. I used a variety of paper lace, gold paint, wings, gold leaves to make her.

Hoping she goes to a good home!

Visits with Friends

I love to make mini albums to send to friends after they visit. I document where we went and what we did and often send it as a surprise. I just finished one for friends who were here last month. We had not seen them in a year but that did not stop us from picking up where we left off and having such a good time! I just finished these pages and hope to mail it tomorrow.

As luck would have it, PCC Monday's inspiration is this image!

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 161 Inspiration Piece (image)

I will not be going to Munich and it is actually early for Oktoberfest but we did spend one afternoon enjoying lunch at a brewery in the next town over. We got there early, before they opened, in order to avoid waiting an hour to get a table! Yes, it is a very popular destination! Of course, I saved one of the coasters

And a beer list!

And we asked the waitress to take our picture!

This was just a snippet of the fun weekend we had! I think they will enjoy the album!

Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate your kind words more than you know!

At the Movies

This week's challenge at Simonssays Monday Challenge is At the Movies!

Movie titles make great titles for scrapbook layouts!

Last year, while in Phoenix visiting our daughter, we also made a Road Trip to visit our old neighbors who now live in northern Arizona.  It is amazing how the scenery changes as you get out of Phoenix and into the mountains!

G45 Come Away with Me collection was perfect for this.

Road Trip was a movie in 2000 about 4 friends who take a trip.

I'm Famous - well sort of

Yesterday was the Art in Park show sponsored by the Rogue River Artist's Association. I have been a member of this group for just about year. This year our group took over responsibility for hosting this event from the city. Our group's president was asked by a local tv station to talk about the show and he brought some artwork to share with the audience. Unbeknownst to me there is also video and as I am watching the interview, I SEE ONE OF MY CANVASES! How cool! Over 16 of us participated in the show yesterday and I was flabbergasted to see my canvas on tv.

As for the show, I sold 6 canvases and have an order for another. Unfortunately, we had torrential downpours and there was a threat of storms so we closed up about 2 pm. I would have loved to stay longer.

Here is a link to the interview! My canvas is around 1:13 and is actually shown a second time!

Art in the Park

In case you did not notice, I have a tab showing the canvases I have for sale. Most are 8 x 10 and cost $20. I have shipped within the USA for approximately $6 - $8. I would be happy if you want to buy any. Just send me an email!

Thank you for visiting!Your stopping my made my day!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

I love saving scraps of papers from projects to use on other projects. I have a bin for solids and a bin for pattern papers. These are used for cards, mixed media canvases and so much more. I even save my handmade paper scraps which come in handy for smaller projects such as the one I have featured over at ArnoldGummer's   Here is a sneak peak

Please stop over at ArnoldGummers to see the entire post!
