I decided to make a few last minute cards for online friends. Each one is different and I had fun with them.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind words! They mean the world to me.
I decided to make a few last minute cards for online friends. Each one is different and I had fun with them.
The barn sale where I have my cards and ornaments starts today. She hosted a preview party Wednesday. I was there and enjoyed seeing a few people buying my cards and ornaments! I am hoping to do well today and tomorrow.
I have cleaned the house and addressed all of my cards. The annual Christmas letter is almost done. I only need to buy gifts for my son. He has not given me a list so he may just get gift cards:):)
All of this means, I am caught up:):)
So why not get out some paints and make a new mess on the desk. I had an idea in my head, something I have seen in a lot of watercolors. I have lots of acrylic paints I never use, so I got them out. I put a generous coat of greens on the background and then used a cut off fan brush to paint the trees. While it isn't a masterpiece, I had fun. I am trying to explore and see what else I can do:)
It is the day after Thanksgiving. It was just the two of us so I didn't overload on food. We just had a repeat for lunch:) Tonight is pizza.
I have all of my wood ornaments, canvas ornaments and card finished for next week's sale. Fingers crossed it is a good one.
I did play with acrylic paint instead of watercolors. I followed You tube tutorials from SurajFine Arts.
Here we are at the end of another week.
This week has been all about cards:) Winter/holiday cards for the upcoming show.
I have learned to work on many cards at once. That way they can be drying and I tend to get better layers.
Where we are in Michigan, we have gone from summer to fall. Earlier this week it was in the 80s. Today it barley made 50. The leaves have not been changing as they normally do and the rain and wind have already knocked a lot off.
It is good weather to stay in and create! This week I was working on mixed media canvas ornaments. Here is a sampling of them. I have more blank canvases arriving tomorrow so hope to get even more done.
Happy Friday. In Michigan we finally left summer for fall. Temps were 80 on Monday and today a more seasonable 60. Leaves are turning but the rain is making them fall too fast.
I have been painting more ornaments.
And i got some new acrylic paints from Sizart. These paints are thick and blend nicely.
Adding this to paintpartyfriday. I encourage you to take a minute and check out the blogs posted. There are many talented artists and wonderful inspiration!
I want to thank you for stopping by here today. I appreicate your kind words and wish you a happy and healthy weekend!
There is an art show in December that I hope to be a part of. I have been busy painting ornaments to sell.
I am using wood discs and painting them with watercolor, acrylics, Unicorrn Spit and more. Trying to make a variety.
Last week I was with the grandkids and we had to do more hand/footprint art for their walls. Here are our latest
Fall has arrived with a vengeance in Michigan. Temps dropped and we had tons of rain. However we have a nice week coming up with temps in the 70s. The leaves are starting to turn. This is my favorite time of year!
I need to thank all of you for the lovely comments on my art! And, I want to thank all of the customers who purchased something. I had a banner day - selling probably 40 cards, a couple of original paintings and a canvas. The art group had its best show ever!
I will need to start painting for the next show but that is not until November so I have some time.
In the meantime, I scrapped! It seems like it has been so long since I did that.
Also used Queen and Company gems and Distress Oxide.
Here is a link to my layout at Scrapbook.com .
Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words!
Congratulations everyone! You made it to Friday!
We enjoyed a few days at the cottage last weekend. Believe it or not, a few trees are starting to turn! I love the mist on the lake first thing in the morning!
Here we are at Friday once again. Had another busy week subbing at school. The kids are settling in and getting used to the routines. I have not had a lot of time to get ready for next week's art show. That is on the agenda for this week.
I have been on a birch tree kick
What a week1 School started and they called me to sub as a classroom aide, playground aide, and just extra hands all over. I was there all day Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday they had early dismissal due to the excessive heat and humidity here. I spent the majority of my day with those little 5 and 6 year olds, who wore me out:):) But, they are such cuties.
By the time I got home, I had little energy to paint!
I do have a sale with the art group in 2 weeks so was busy getting more cards made and paintings packaged.
Adding this to PaintpartyFriday. Please visit all of the wonderful artists and their blogs!
Thank you for visiting. Have a safe and healthy weekend! Thank you for your kind words! They mean more to me than you will know!
The dog days of summer are in full swing in Michigan. We have very high temps and humidity which make it difficult to spend much time outside.
The art group has a show in September so I am preparing cards and pieces for that.
I have been playing with a new set of paints - Paul Rubens Pearlescent Watercolors.(#paulrubens) (@paulrubensart) This set arrives in a lovely pink box with a pink chamois and a pink tin. The colors are so vibrant and glittery. There are yellows, pinks, greens, blues and other metallic colors. These work well on both black and white papers.
The leaf painting I did using my regular watercolors and added the Paul Rubens gold over the leaves
I was also playing with masking fluid.
