Counting Down

In 5 days we will be heading back to Michigan. Where has the past four months gone?!?

Yesterday our oldest granddaughter turned 4. We had a joint party for her and her brother last Sunday. His birthday is in 5 weeks and he will be 2. Such fun ages!

In  honor of the warmer weather - going to 98 here on Sunday - here are some flowers. I hope to see some blooming when we get back to Michigan.

Wishing everyone a wonderful and healthy weekend.

End of March!

How did it become the end of March? Just another 10 days or so before we head back to Michigan. Our snowbird time with the grandkids is up.

We have moved in with the kids for the last two weeks. Being here with a 4 year old and 2 year old leaves me with little time to be creative. I will have plenty of time once I get home to catch up on painting and scrapbooking.

There is still time for hand and footprint art:) They have gotten more complex from when we started:)

Since Easter is coming up - here are a couple of bunnies I have done in the past.

Happy PPF! I wish each of you have a happy and healthy weekend! Adding this to PaintpartyFriday!

Thank you for your kind words and comments! Each means more to me than you know.

Happy Friday!

 Welcome again to another Friday!

Last week we both got our second shots of the vaccine and with minimal reaction. So we are now looking forward to what comes next.

Our snowbird time is also quickly coming to an end. We will be staying for our granddaughter's 4th birthday and Easter then making the tip back across the country. Will be sad to leave the two little ones. However we do already have flights back just three weeks later for the other one's second birthday:):)

I have still not had much time for painting.   The pears were for a negative painting challenge.

This is a loose floral I tried.

And another one

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the world. I hope you have a fun and healthy weekend! Adding this to PaintpartyFriday! Please be sure to visit the artists who post their blogs. I am always inspired.

So today I headed out for my second covid vaccination. So grateful to all of those who have made these shots possible! Not much of a reaction to the first so hoping for that when i get this one.

Still not much time to be creative. Last couple of weeks with the grandkids so my efforts are focused there:)

There was a hand and feet challenge over on facebook. These are my granddaughter's feet in her ballet shoes.

And a hand holding flowers.

This will be made into a thank you card.

Thank you for your visit and kind words! I really do appreciate everyone who stops by! Wishing each of you a fun and healthy weekend.

Where does the time go!

Time is flying by all too quickly! We only have a bout 4 more weeks left of our snowbird visit to the grandkids. It will be very bittersweet. Not seeing those faces every day breaks my heart. But, it will be good to be back home in our house.

During my few spare moments I managed to paint a couple of quick pieces for a "make me laugh" challenge.

I hope we are not the only ones who have started having happy hour every day during covid:)

This one is called heads up.

First one

I am happy to say I was able to get my first Covid vaccine:) Walgreens opened appointments on Wednesday. We hopped on line and persevered and got appointments only a mile from my daughter's house! The process at the store was relatively quick and so far the only reaction is a sore arm. We already have appointments for the second shot in a month.

I did not have a lot of time for painting this week. I was very excited with this floral on a black Strathmore Mixed media paper. I let the paints pool and was happy with the results.

Did these for a transportation challenge. My VW is a bit squarish and the tires look flat:)

This little truck/bus could be for my grandson. He loves all types of vehicles.

The weekend

I kept thinking today was Sunday but, no, it is only Saturday:)

We enjoyed a morning at the Phoenix herpetological Society. They are the largest rescue facility for reptiles in the USA. I am not a reptile lover but my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter is. She got to hold and/or pet a tortoise, bearded dragon, snake, gecko and more. I did actually touch a few of them:):)

During the week, I was able to complete a birthday card for my sister.

I had an idea and played with lots of water and dropping color in. I scratched the paper with the end of the brush.

This is for a transportation challenge. My version of Cinderella's carriage,

Hoping you are all safe and healthy!

Another week gone.

My goodness! Where does the time go? We are here at Friday yet again. It is hard to believe that next week will be February!

I have not had much time at all this week to paint or scrap but instead, I enjoyed playing school with the 3 1/2 year old and vrooming trucks and cars with the 1 1/2 year old.

Here are a couple of quick pieces I did. The first two were for a still life challenge. My cactus need work:) I fared a bit better with the paint brushes:)

This little toucan is a  bit of messy fun.

I hope that you were able to enjoy some creative time this week.

What to do with

My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter and I love to get the paints out. We end up with a pile of her masterpieces. The question is - what to do with all of them?

I had an idea this week and turned one into thank you cards. We are a bit late but we wanted to send thank yous for Christmas gifts. We did not have any premade card, so I decided to turn one of her masterpieces into cards.

Those are some of her other artworks in the background.

While we were away from them for the evening, I was able to practice and completed a card I am quite proud of.

I followed a you tube tutorial by Shayda Campbell. I am very very happy with this. This is exactly what I need to do. What and follow more tutorials.

Friday already?

We are spending time out west this winter. We tried it last year and decided to come back again this year. Our two little grandchildren, 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 are fifteen minutes away. We spend most days of the week at their place attending swimming and tumble lessons or babysitting so their mom can make it to appointments or the store without them in tow. So even though I brought all of my supplies, I find I have much less time to be creative than I thought. I am ok with that though, as they are my main focus while I am here.

I have participated in a few painting challenges such as this one to use primary colors

I have been playing with inexpensive paper. These might get turned into cards or just tossed.
I also found a tutorial for painting roses so tried this as well. I need lots more practice:) And less water:)

I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful week of painting or being with family or staying healthy.

I am fighting a cold but I do think I am now winning.

Paint Party Friday and I am back

Wow - where did the month of December go?

We ventured west to again be snowbirds by our two grandchildren. Last year was the first time we tried it, and decided to come back again this year. It is such fun to spend so much more time with them. And at 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, their mom needs extra hands! The days fill up quickly as we watch swim and tumble classes, visit the park and play outside.

We have still not really settled into a routine. That should come this week. My creative projects have a taken a back seat but I hope to get busy now that the holidays are over.

I did complete a couple of tiny pieces which includes a leaf, poinsettia, a girl and a dog. One thing I learned, it that I still have to let them dry before I want to move on:):)

I hope each of you enjoyed a wonderful and healthy holiday season. I look forward to even more fun in 2021.
