On A Roll

I am on a roll with getting some layouts accomplished!

My granddaughter recently turned 3 and while I thought she looked like her mom, I need to get out an old photo to prove it.

She does!

Same nose and smile for sure!

This is my take on sketch #202 over at SketchNScrap

In Her Easter Outfits

My granddaughter had not one, not two, not three but four Easter outfits. A friend who always buys her clothes for the holidays had gotten two but forgot where she put them so got her two more. I made sure Lauren wore each of them during the day. Sadly 3 years old grow so much that it would be impossible to save them for the next year.

I was inspired by this sketch from Stickitdown

I chose to put all 4 photos together closer to the bottom of the page.

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words! Stay safe and healthy!

Happy Friday

Welcome to Friday and another weekend! Summer has moved into Michigan with temps very close to 90 today.

I spent a bit of time this week painting cards. Jumped on the bunny bandwagon,. He is so cute! My flamingo is not yet finished.

I did also work on more flowers.

Still working on layering and letting the pieces dry before I add more paint.

I am feeling pretty good about these.

I am adding this to PaintPartyFriday  and encourage you to visit the artists who post links over there.

I wish everyone a safe and healthy weekend! Be sure to wear those masks and social distance!

Up & Down

My granddaughter finally chose an animal to ride on the carousel that went up and down. Last year she graduated from the bench to the animal that did not go up and down to one that did.

After the Rain

So my husband decided that this was a good week to get a truck full of mulch and work on the landscape beds. We had been hauling and spreading for several days now. Last night we were interrupted by a lovely thunderstorm and after which was this

There was even a double one.

I never tire of looking at rainbows.

When I wasn't mulching, I was working with my paints. I am just not a natural and have to work and experiment and play.

This is an old canvas that I painted over. I used a baby wipe and acrylics to make the circle shapes. It is large 18 x 24. I think I may be painting over it again:)

I bought a different brand of watercolor cards and was playing with those. Not so much a fan but I figured out a way to make them work. This purple card is headed in the right direction.

Still working with the blue one too.

We are supposed to have another show/sale in August so I need to build up my supply of cards. I am still not sure if I will participate. It will depend on how the virus is acting at that point.

I wish everyone a fun and relaxing weekend!

Thank you so much for your visit and kind words. Adding this to PaintPartyFriday!

TGIF

Happy Friday! (Yes, in case you didn't know what day it is).

Going to be another warm and muggy day here in Michigan. I might just have to stay in and be creative.

I have been trying to spend a bit of time each day painting. Just experimenting and trying to learn more.

Here are a couple I did.

This is a small watercolor which reminds me of the beaches and dunes in Michigan

The next one is a very loose flower. I was trying a different paper which I don't think I like:)

This last was an experiment with Gouche. I put the paint on an acrylic block and stamped it. I added circles by stamping with the end of a paper towel roll.

Adding this to PaintpartyFriday! I love visiting the blogs who participate to see what other artists are doing!

I want to thank each of you for your kind and encouraging words. They mean the world to me!

Have a safe and happy weekend!!
