Monday Inspiration

I am finishing up last year's Christmas album. This  squares at this week's inspiration at PCC called to me.

I cut squares from pattern papers and used them to frame my photo.

I am happy ot say that I think I have finally finished this album! Thanks PCC for the inspiration!

In the City

This week's art journal prompt for Journal 52 is in the City. I worked in my old book first making a sky background then layered washi tapes for my buildings.. I outlined and added windows and radio towers. Was just quick and fun.

Sketch

I lvoe using sketches and while this may not look like the sketch that is where I started! Love this one from Stuck

Here is my layout. I rotated the sketch to work with my photos.

Scrapping - It has Been a Long Time

I have not scrapped in FOREVER but yesterday got back at it. Yes, I am trying to finish last year's Christmas album before December:) My daughter and husband usually go cross country skiing while she is home. Last year her fiance joined them. Unfortunately, he took a few spills.

Haha - on a Roll

I have had the day to myself while my husband and the dog were at the cottage. I have used that time wisely:)

I got the wedding centerpieces taken apart and borrowed items packed up ready to be returned. I put away various piles of wedding stuff. I made a stack of keepsakes to be scrapped or archived.

Then I caught up on my art journaling:) I had not been feeling creative at all but today have finished not one or two but three pages!! Each one is different using various prompts.
The first was to use newspaper. My girl and hearts are from the paper.

This one was for Rhyme. I had bought a lyric/music book at the library sale so pulled out a Sailing rhyme

.

For texture I watercolored a tissue and modge podged it into my  journal.  I turned different blots into flowers. This may be one of my faves!!

I just love that I completed so much today!

Thank you

My thanks to everyone who supports and encourages me as I play with paint and attempt canvases and art journaling. I appreciate it more than you will ever know!!

So this for you!

So the question is ----  Am I a Journal Hoarder??

I don't think I am a hoarder so much as I like to use different journals depending on my mood. And - truth be told - they may not all be "journals"! I am not a "true artist" - I have no schooling or art background. A few years ago, I saw She art mixed Media and decided to start playing with paint and canvases. I had never heard of art journaling, but soon  began playing along with some prompts.

I use whatever I have - a mixed media pad, a sketch pad, an old book, etc. I believe that you can use what you have to do this! You do not need to spend a fortune on supplies. I love books from Goodwill or library sales. My watercolors were my daughter's when she was in junior high which was in 1993 or so. I have fun playing and this is for me so no one else needs to be impressed.

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind. My daughter got married on the 6th here in Michigan, then on the 13th we had a party in Phoenix where she lives for her friends and coworkers. I wanted to create a new piece for this hop, but my mojo is still packed in my suitcase:)

So I think I will just highlight a piece I recently made. Jennifer's godmother was here for the wedding. We had not seen each other for a few years but picked right back up as if no time had passed.

I was thinking of her when i made this page. I used paint to make a random background. I painted the hearts and cut them out. I attached them with twine underneath.

I am thankful for this group and the push it gives me. Lately I not been feeling so artistic but I know I can go visit the other member's blogs and be inspired. I think it is just lack of practice and once I jump right back in I will be fine.

Thanks for stopping by! I would love for you to become a follower too!

Next up is the wonderful Tamiko McCurry

I am Back!!

It has been a crazy few weeks. I am pleased and proud to announce that on Saturday September 6, Jennifer Lauren Marmo married Shawn Douglas Fletcher. The day could not have been any more perfect! The bride just glowed and the groom finally relaxed and enjoyed it!

The bride did not allow any photography during the service so I have to wait for the official photos.

I have not had any time to scrap or craft. They stayed until Tuesday morning and are honeymooning over Christmas.

I used PCCs Monday challenge

to create this journal page.

I immediately changed the large circle into a heart:)

Thank you for stopping by!!
