Magazine Monday Inspiration

I love playing along with PCC's Magazine Monday Inspiration. This is week 138 and I loved this cover!

I just loved the pastel colors and the black image. I used water colors and a Penny Black Stamp - Art Play. It seems my Stazon Ink pad is dying so I apologize for the spotty stamped images. But, in the end I didn't mind it too much!

Art journal Play

I am playing  along with Caroline Dube's Let's Play. This month the challenge was to find art supplies at the hardware store. I combined masking tape, drywall tape and drywall compound onto this journal page!.

Busy Scrapping

My computer has been out for the last week for repairs. Luckily my son is in IT and has nothing better to do than fix his mom's computer:) I am so grateful for his help!

While I had limited computer access, I did much more scrapping! I sorted through photos and memorabelia  and now have even more layouts to complete.

Love this Bo Bunny Candy cane  Lane collection!! So happy we were all able to be together for Christmas even if it only was a couple of days!

Joys of Spring Challenge

The rules are simple. Create a layout, an ATC, a mixed media project or a DIY. Easter Eggs and cards are not allowed for this challenge. Try something new or unique!

I am a Crew Member over at CanvasCorpBrands and was inspired to use my supplies to make this mixed media canvas. We live on 3 acres with lots of woods. I love this time of year when the animals start to reappear. We have tons of birds, deer, chipmunks and even some bunnies.

Fantasy of lights Parade

We spent Thanksgiving in Phoenix at my daughter's. One of the things on our to do list included seeing the Fantasy of Lights Parade in Tempe. We scored a front row seat at Gordon Birsch where we have a very leisurely meal until it was time for the parade!!

I used this sketch from SketchnScrap

I even made a two pager flipping the design for the second page.

We truly enjoyed it - oohing and aahing at all the wonderfully decorated floats!!
I recommend it as something to do in Tempe over the holidays!

Taking time to play

I had a few minutes today to just play. I got out my Silks and Twinkling H2Os and created this page. I usually struggle with flowers so purposely made this loose.It doesn't show as much in the photos but these colors are nice and sparkly.

Texture

This month Carolyn Dube has a challenge to find you art supplies at the hardware store. One of my tricks is to use Spackle paste for a texture paste. It works just as well as the pastes you can get from the art supply stores.

 This is a canvas I am working on. Still deciding on a quote/words but I wanted to share anyway.

Into the Woods

When Jen and Shawn were here for Christmas, we took a long walk at the wildlife preserve. Last year they skied this trail. It was chilly but not snowing so a good day for a walk.

I have had this Fancy Pants paper collection for probably a year. Isn't it pretty and interestingly matches the Pantone colors for this year. I am joining in on my friend Darnel's NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge. I love this pattern paper and am glad I finally used it!!



Feels good to be getting some scrapping done. What are you busy with this Sunday??

I have been Inspired

I saw a plaque at a store and immediately thought "I can do that". Do you ever get that feeling? This time I did run home and get to work. It will be a perfect addition to the kid's Easter baskets!!

It is just a thin panel canvas which I covered with a sheet of paper. I cut the bunny out of cardboard and then covered it with burlap! A bit of stamping and inking and done!!

This morning we have snow but it falling so gently and slowly. I am just enjoying watching it. Wishing you a wonderful Saturday!

New Projects

I am really going outside the box on this one. I had an idea..................................

This canvas is made with a tissue paper and tuile skirt. The bodice is a toilet paper roll. I also used texture paste.

IT's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

As your children get older and married, Christmas traditions change! I will be the first to admit, I am having trouble with these changes:) My daughter lives in Phoenix - far away from Michigan - and I miss having her home for the holidays. Rob and his wife live about 30 minutes from us and this year, they hosted a Christmas day brunch for her mom and my husband and I. Jen and her husband wanted to celebrate Christmas at their home (last year they were on their honeymoon). We finally got everyone together at our home on the 26th!!

We still do photos with Santa!! (Years ago I bought Dh a Santa outfit at Walgreens!) My kids put up with this and I so thank them for it!
