This week's layout for SYAO2 is based on this sketch

I chose to do a more simplistic layout to showcase this photo I took in my sister's garden.

I have lace, bling, a doily and a journaling tag. I misted in the top left corner.

Inspired by Sweethaven Homecoming

I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the Sweethaven Series. It has not yet arrived at the Christian bookstore where I work and I hope it won't be too long before we get it.

Courtney Walsh issued a challenge to create a project inspired by the Sweethaven books. I chose to do a mixed media canvas. We have a cottage on a small lake in Northern Michigan and there is nothing more peaceful than just resting, relaxing, regrouping by the water.

I used tissue paper on the canvas to give it dimension and also used joint tape and spackle to create the setting sun. I painted with acrylic and water colors and also added some rubons, and stamping.

The quote from john Conrad reads" The true peace of God begins at any point a thousand miles from the nearest land. When I sit at the lake, I can look past the boats and jet skis and find this peace.

Bandit is our 11 1/2 year old Golden. now that the kids are gone most of the time, he is my favorite subject to photograph!

For SYAO2 at Paper Secrets I used twine, staples, chipboard, tags and I punched.

Reaching New Heights

I did this layout for this weeks' SYAO at Paper Secrets

Jen brought her PhD gown home with her on vacation. I wanted to do a photo shoot so we headed to the playground at the nearby  school. She tackled the climbing wall:)

I have chipboard, buttons, pattern paper and banners/pennants. I misted!

Her Travels!

Jen finished her PhD this May. One of things she has been able to do while at school was travel to Communication Conferences. Here are some of the places she has been.

Creative Scrappers

I love this sketch!

Here is my take. My husband's aunt visited us over the 4th of July. She is my kid's favorite relative. At 79, she is the life of the party and keeps us all laughing!!

August Creative's Dare

Once again I tackled Tracy's August dare. This time it was to create our piece using a photo of ourselves.

I made mine as a canvas and used a photo of me at the lake. Added paints, inks, and even some doodling!!
