Paint Party Friday

I have been working on completely a scrapbook album for my 18 month old granddaughter of her week in Michigan this summer. I am glad to say it is done, but it turned into two volumes. I had too many pages for one.

Now I have time to work on more projects for the next art show. Since I sold a few floral paintings, I decided I would work on those. Here is sunflowery/black eyed susan type flower.

These are on 9 x 12 Arches watercolor paper.

Vacation Albums

I have been working on a mini album documenting my 18 month old granddaughter's visit to Michigan this summer. I had TONS of pages and of course, assumed it would fit in the album I had.

No, I could not even snap it shut. I quickly ordered a second one which I received quickly. This morning I decorated the covers and can now call them finished!

I will try and share some individual pages but my daughter does not allow me to post photos of my granddaughter on line, so I hope you will understand.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

Fall

I love this time of year with leaves starting to change and falling temps. Here in Michigan the hot muggy days have finally broken. It is supposed to be in the 40s tonight. I am going to enjoy that.

I took that inspiration to a couple of thank you cards I made. I used alcohol and distress inks.

The alcohol inks are fun to play with. I used real leaves by inking the back side and pressing it against the paper.

Friday!

Another week is in the books!

And, I have started another project. My 17 month old granddaughter lives in Phoenix. Far away from me in Michigan. I already am writing letters to her after each visit. When she is older I will give his this box of memories. In the meantime, I thought of something else I could do with her. She got a new play house which has a mail slot.I am painting and sending Alphabet post cards every few days. Eventually she will have a complete set.

I am making them pretty simple:

I sealed them good and took the first one to the post office to be sure it was ok to mail something like this. They thought they were so cute and wanted to know how I made them.

Many thanks to everyone who came out to the art show last weekend. I had a banner sale selling watercolor paintings, cards, and canvases! Got my work cut out for me before the November show!

Art in the Park

This weekend our local art group hosts Art in the Park. Set up by the river in our scenic town, over 60 artists will be there. It is a fun event with so many gorgeous works to look at and buy.

I will be displaying and selling my mixed media canvases, my watercolor cards and my hand painted wood bangle bracelets. I can post pics tomorrow of the set up and my displays. For now here are some of my works:
