It's the Weekend!!

What a week1 School started and they called me to sub as a classroom aide, playground aide, and just extra hands all over. I was there all day Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday they had early dismissal due to the excessive heat and humidity here. I spent the majority of my day with those little 5 and 6 year olds, who wore me out:):) But, they are such cuties.

By the time I got home, I had little energy to paint!

I do have a sale with the art group in 2 weeks so was busy getting more cards made and paintings packaged.

Adding this to PaintpartyFriday. Please visit all of the wonderful artists and their blogs!

Thank you for visiting. Have a safe and healthy weekend! Thank you for your kind words! They mean more to me than you will know!

Happy Friday!

The dog days of summer are in full swing in Michigan. We have very high temps and humidity which make it difficult to spend much time outside.

The art group has a show in September so I am preparing cards and pieces for that.

I have been playing with a new set of paints - Paul Rubens Pearlescent Watercolors.(#paulrubens) (@paulrubensart) This set arrives in a lovely pink box with a pink chamois and a pink tin. The colors are so vibrant and glittery. There are yellows, pinks, greens, blues and other metallic colors. These work well on both black and white papers.

The leaf painting I did using my regular watercolors and added the Paul Rubens gold over the leaves

These were done just with the Pearlescent set. Love the shimmer and shine.

I was also playing with masking fluid.

I have made a good dent on getting ready for the show.

And they are gone!

It was a whirlwind of a week and now it is over. My granddaughter cried when she was thinking about going home, cried at the airport and cried when she got home. Gotta love a 4 year old.

She was so excited to be in the garden and picked everything she could.

Can never get enough of the sand and water
Once he figured out life jackets weren't so bad, everyone enjoyed boat rides.

My brush was quite still all that time.

But I did create this paining using #PaulRubens paints. So shimmery!

I have a show/sale in a few weeks so need to get busy!

I am a bit late but adding this to PaintpartyFriday! Please check out the very talented artists!

Have a safe and healthy week! Thank you for visiting and for your kind words.

They are Here

Well, the grandkids made it here from Phoenix. We weren't sure how the 2ish one would do and he started off screaming on the plane because he did not want to be in a car seat. So they ditched it and he and his sister did pretty well on the rest of the flight. Sadly, they told my daughter the car seat would be with the checked luggage. It wasn't and of course, she could not get back down to the gate. The flight got in at 10:38 pm and we finally got her car seat shortly after midnight. There was an issue with staffing and getting maintenance and then it got stuck down on the conveyor. But we finally were able to head to my house. My 4 year old granddaughter ran around exploring until 1:45 am when she finally crashed.

I have all sorts of toys that were my kids and about 6 boxes have been opened since they got here. Stuffed animals and barbies. Car parking garage and castle. It is all over the house:):)

I have not have any time to pull out a paintbrush since they arrived. I did these earlier in the week.

I played with masking fluid and letting color run.

This was for an 80s ATC swap.
