Sold out

Well, almost sold out. Yesterday was Art in the Park and as a member of the Rogue River Artists Association, I participated. It was a hot summer day and crowds filled the park.

I started set up at 6 am because I was also helping visiting artists unload and set up.

My thanks to everyone stopped by and admired especially to those who made a purchase.

These two paintings went to new homes!

My card rack has about 10 cards left on it

And I sold almost 20 Christmas ornaments.

I am taking today to relax then it is back to work painting more for the November show.

My sincere thank yous to everyone who made a purchase. It truly made my day!

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words.

I scrapped!

I actually scrapped! It has been so long and I am getting farther and farther behind. Or it is just that there are so many new memories with the grandkids, that I want to scrap.

Jen and Lauren have matching bathing suits which they wore at the cottage in northern Michigan.

The following contain affiliate links.

I used Echo Park available at

Lauren also started Kindergarten

She was so excited and couldn't wait to go back the next day!

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words!

What happened to July?

Have I really not posted since June?? Wow, what happened to summer?

The grandkids were here the last week of June and we spent the majority of the time at the cottage. Swim, sand, fish, repeat. That pretty much sums up the week:) Being from Phoenix they are used to swimming in a pool but had no problems getting right in the lake. And Miss Lauren is not afraid of worms or fish. She did want to keep the fish in a bucket and she named them:)

After they left, my husband had his hip replaced. So I have been moving the yard with the push mower and helping with his recovery. He is slowly getting back up to speed but I am still mowing, etc.

I have been getting ready for an art show/sale this weekend. I have about 6 dozen cards as well as other original pieces. It is our town's sidewalk sales so there should be good crowds. Here are three of my cards.

Here are some of the larger pieces

I hope you have been enjoying the past month. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words.

Happy June!

June is here - already! This month is my son's birthday and my 47th wedding anniversary. Yikes!

We have been busy getting the cottage all set for summer fun. The boat and jet ski are ready. The grandchildren will be here the last week of June. Before then we will be hosting caddies for the local LPGA tournament.

I did manage to complete a few thank you cards.

The first one was something different with a palette knife. Other two are watercolors.

Thank you for visiting! And thank you for your kind words. I truly appreciate them.

Where has the Time Gone!

My goodness May is flying by!

We were back in Phoenix for a week and a half to celebrate our grandson's third birthday! We had a train come to the house and give kids rides around the neighborhood. It was quite a sight! He is all about trains and was very excited with this surprise.

I have been working on painting cards but yesterday got out some acrylic paints to play. I had an idea in my head but I am not sure I achieved what I wanted. I used 4 wood panels to create a sunflower or that was my idea. I used Flowtrol and silicone oil to achieve cells.

I do love the effect I was able to get in the red.

I hope each of you enjoys a healthy and happy weekend!

Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your kind words.

Hoppy Easter!

Wishing everyone a joyful and hoppy Easter!

Here are throwback bunny photos from 1984 and 1989! My daughter's and son's first photos with the Bunny. I kept the tradition up as long as I could! Glad to say my grandkids also got a bunny photo this year!

This is a watercolor card I made. Still learning to paint loose and to let layers dry!

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words!

I Scrapped!

It has been a while but I got a layout done today!

My wonderful grandkids hugging trees:)

And, they started daycare in October so here is their first day photo!

Was inspired by this sketch from SketchNScrap

I have returned

We spent the cold winter months with our daughter and grandchildren. Normally we rent a place, but this year that fell through. So we lived with them. In addition to the fun  and chaos of a 5 and 3 year old, they remodeled their kitchen and bathrooms! I found peace during long walks while the kids attended daycare.

I am proud to say I logged over 990,000 steps during those three months. I had to replace my sneakers!

Now that we are back in Michigan I need to figure out how to keep it going. Since we have been back, we have had three days of rain and today  snow! Also we live in a rural area with no sidewalks or shoulders to walk on. Sharing the road with cars flying by can be dangerous. Looks like I will be driving to other local trails.

Now that I have returned it is time to get back to my art and scrapbooking. Needless to say, I have thousands of photos of the kids to scrap.

Here is a card I painted for a friend undergoing breast cancer.

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words!

Happy Spring!

Spending time this winter with my daughter and her family has left little time to be creative.  In addition to watching the 4 and 2 year old twice a week, my daughter decided to remodel the kitchen and three bathrooms. Luckily that is behind us now but sadly, now.we only have 2 weeks left here.

I did get out my watercolors and play for a bit today.  Played a little with line and wash.

If I am  going to join the art group sales this year, I am going to have to get busy once I am home.

A bit late, but adding this to PaintpartyFriday -  They are celebrating their 11th birthday and I want to say congrat To them!!

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words.

It has been a while.

The holidays and winter have kept us busy especially as we are spending time with the grand kids.

They are in daycare three days a week and I have been able to get my paints out a little.

This week, I painted valentines for the kids.  My granddaughter requested a koala.

I hope this finds you are safe and healthy.  Thank you for visiting.

Happy New Year

I hope you have all made it through the holidays with your health and sense of humor intact.  It is a stressful time for sure.  We had great fun with the grandkids.  At 4 and 2, they radiate the joy of the season.  Sickness reared it’s ugly head so that our son could not make it here for Christmas.  Luckily he was better and able to join us for New Year’s.

So now that all the excitement is over, it is time to settle into a routine.  The kids got to school 3 days a week so I hope to use those days for some creative fun.

Audrey Shantz Art on Instagram is having a daily art challenge.  There is a list of topics.

I have not done every day but am working on them as I can

I am making small paintings on scraps of papers. So far I have only had a few minutes here and there todo this.  Maybe next week I can venture to a larger size.

Adding this to PaintPartyFriday-

Wishing you a healthy and happy weekend. Thank you for stopping by!
