Golf and Art

 Not necessarily in that order:)

This week the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) is in town. We have had the honor of hosting either golfers or caddies for since this tournament began. This year we are happy to be housing three caddies  - all of hwom have stayed with us before. We enjoy opening our house to them and will be at the golf course from Thursday to Sunday cheering on their golfers.

We will be heading back to AZ the beginning of July. Last week I focused on getting some art ready for the upcoming August sale. I am pretty proud of these two pieces. I also have quite a few more cards in stock.

If I can get my desk cleaned I might be able to do some scrappign this week. I kind of pushed that to the side.

I hope you are enjoying the summer and all of the activities that come with it. We are missing the grandkids and can't wait to get back to see them.

Been Busy

The past few weeks have flown by! I scheduled all the necessary appointments during those two weeks - doctor, eye doctor, hip doctor, haircut and dentist. The new hip is just about 6 months old. I am walking around 400,000 steps a month which is back to where I was over a year ago. I do miss the sidewalks of Chandler where I can go for miles. Our neighborhood here does not have sidewalks and there is a school on the road at the end of our street. Also no sidewalks so walking is more of a challenge.

I have been able to psend some time scrapping. It helped that is was NSD - National Scrapbook Day. I participated over at A Cherry on Top. There were so many challenges! Here are a few of my layouts:

It was fun to work on our Spring Break photos from Cancun.

As always I appreciate your stopping by and for your kind words.

Have a lovely week.

Back Again

And, we are back in Michigan. I spent 5 months in Phoenix where we had almost daily interaction with the grandkids. It is nice to be home and in cooler weather, but I miss them:)

But, I have tons of photos to scrap and we facetime quite frquently.

We spent almost a week during spring break in Cancun. These kids LOVE the water and the ocean was no exception.

Adding this a Cut File and MIxed Media challenge over at Cherry Crafters on Facebook

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words.

Wishing everyone a lovely day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The leprechaun managed to evade the kids's traps yet again:) It is getting harder every year to find green items to leave them as treats too. We might have outgrown this tradition:):)

It didn't help that we spent the week before it on vacation. We all went to Cancun for the kids' spring break. We loved the Americana Fiesta Coral Beach resort. The pools, the ocean, the food and the swim up bars:):) My grandkids, who do not drink soda, now know what a Shirley Temple is and they enjoyed many of them.

They are still on break today so once they go back, I can get to scrapping.

I did pull this one together quickly using a sketch from A Cherry on  Top

Spring is more like summer here in Arizona with well above average temps.

I hope wherever you are, you are beginning to see flowers poking up, birds arriving and warmer temps as well.

Happy Valentine's Day

 Happy Valentine's Day.

I have been busy making a banner for each grandchild. I usually tape things to their doors to surprise them when they wake up. There is also a little gift bag of goodies.

I have continued scrapping some of their adventures. I used this sketch from A Cherry on Top

the rest of us.
Last year we all participated in the Phoenix zoo 5K. We decided to complete it again this year. My grandson and his mom ran quite a bit. I did a very fast walk. My granddaughter, her dad and grandpa did a more leisurely walk. They probably enjoyed the zoo and zoo lights the most.

I also painted each of them a valentine.

Wishing you all a day filled with love. Thank you for visiting and for your kind words.

New Year, New Layouts!

I am making a promise to share more this year. Let's inspire each other and create together.

I am sharing two layouts that I created for challenges over at A Cherry on Top

The first is a sketch challenge

Here is my layout

We are out west at our condo and I have limited supplies. I made this work by fussy cutting leaves and  using wood cactus shapes.

The second layout is for the monthly music challenge. The grandkids are 6 and 8 and for the past month their favorite song has been Put Some Miles on It. I combined that with recent bike riding photos.

Sometimes, I don't know where to start with a scrapbook layout. These challenges provide me with Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your kind words.

I hope you visit A Cherry on Top and check out the cahllenges.

Day 5!

I am proud to announce that I am Unity Stamp's Growing in Unity Girl this week. It is my pleasure to showcase some of their wonderful products and different ways to use them.

For those not familiar with Unity Stamp, this small family owned business offers over 60,000 sentiments and images all of which are produced in the USA. In addition they offer dies, paper and more!

Welcome to Day 5! I am sad to say that today is my final post for UnityStampCo. I hope you have enjoyed my projects. I appreciate the kind words and comments you have been leaving!

For my final project, I completed another winter card. I enjoy having a stash of cards to send out to brighten someone's day.

I started with the Rustic Christmas Paper Pack layering three of the different papers. These colors and patterns mix and match so well.

I went back to the Fa La La La La kit of the month. I stamped the holly leaf and berries stamp using Distress Oxides. I fussy cut them and highlighted with black pen. I added a tag and using one of the circle die cuts added the sentiment stamp. Now my card is ready to mail.

I hope I have inspired you this week to check out the stamps, papers and more over at UnityStampCo

Thank you for all of your kind words and comments. I hope you are inspired or maybe have learned some new ideas for how to use your papers and stamps. Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a $20 gift card.

Thank you Unity Stamps for allowing me to be a part of the Unity Girls!

Please stay tuned for the announcement of the gift card winners!

Thank you for all of your kind words and comments. We are halfway through the week.

It is the season of gift giving and even in this day and age of electronic communications, I am a firm believer in a hand written thank you card. This adorable set is perfect for this project!

You will want to get your kids and grandkids involved using Mice Lil Thank You to make thank you cards.

It would be easy to stamp this mouse multiple times and have them color it. I fussy cut the mouse but you could also just stamp on a [piece of paper and have them write the thank you note on it. Anyone would be excited to get one of these in the mail.

How cute are these tags which can be attached to birthday gifts! For two of the tags, I created a watercolor background before stamping. For the third, on the wine, I stamped and then painted. Welcome to August

I survived another art show on Saturday and am happy that quite a few people purchased cards and/or paintings. Our town was having sidewalk sales so there were more people in town than normal. The art group is prepping for the big show in September. Between our artists and the guests there will be over 70 tents filled with paintings, photography, jewelry and more!

I did manage to do a little scrapbooking. The grandkids went back to school in July. Love the first day with all of the new clothes and supplies.

Off to create more pieces for the September show!

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words!

Happy Monday

Well, time has again fast forwarded on me again. Since my last post, I spent three weeks with the grandkids. My husband and I joined them for a 5 day vacation in Carlsbad, Ca. We had a blast playing in the ocean, exploring the town, going whale watching and spending another day at Legoland.

I then stayed two more weeks to babysit before the kids headed off to school on July 16. Yes, that early! They are on a modified year round calendar. They get a 2 week break in the fall, 2 weeks at Christmas and 2 weeks in the spring. They finish shortly before Memorial Day. I love being there to attend Meet the Teacher night and go with them the first morning. They are tackling third and first grades this year! Big sister always helps little brother go inside and get to his room.

Now I am back and have another art show this weekend. The weather looks promising with the heat and humidity breaking just in time.

I have been working on new pieces which I hope customers will like.

Thank you for stopping by and I will try to be more present going forward:)

Art Show

I was one of a group of artists who help a pop up art market in Rockford, Michigan this past Saturday. The Rogue River Artists are a local group of artists and we host shows/sales 4 times a year.

This summer pop up was hindered by extremely high temps, gusty winds, road construction and lack of parking. But, we made it through.

I enjoy visiting with the guests and love to hand bookmarks out to children.

Here are some of the works I had on display for sale.

Here is a look at my display.

If you were a customer or someone I chatted with, thank you!

Many items shown are available for purchase.

Thank you for your support.
