O Christmas Tree

You know how you go to craft show/sales and say "I could do that". Well, I finally did it. My friend and I had seen book paper trees which ran about $20. After looking at what they were made of, we thought this is one thing we could pull off.

I used shish kabob skewers for the stem, Shakespeare book paper, old buttons and ribbon. The base is a wood spool painted gold and glued to a coaster that I covered with Christmas paper.

The lowest papers are about 4 inches and the smallest 1 inch. I used 5 per grouping and fanned them out. I used cardboard between the layers. The ones we had seen used corks but I did not have enough.
I am still working on getting them not to lean but I think they came out quite good. I will add them to my Christmas decor when I get that all out.

Thank you for letting me share. I hope you are enjoying this sunny Sunday!

It's a Bird

Ok - bear with me as I catch up on my scrapping!

I got to be with my granddaughter for her first Halloween! We had fun putting on her costume which my daughter had gotten months earlier!

LJ was Supergirl! Let me tell you - for babies, a onesie with a cape is all they need!

I flipped this sketch from StuckSketches upside down.

Thank you for letting me share another layout of the sweet baby!

Our Little Pumpkin

I was lucky enough to spend Halloween with my granddaughter. The church down the block set up an amazing little pumpkin patch and I was excited for us to go visit it. Lauren was good until we tried to stand her in the straw in her bare feet. She freaked out:) So much for getting those wonderful pumpkin photos I wanted. But, I managed to get quite a few of Our Little Pumpkin!

I used a sketch from Stickitdown

I chose to print all the photos on one piece of paper. The strips at the bottom are the straw that she didn't like.

Face is blurred to respect her mom's wishes not to have her photograph online.

Lots of G45 here!

Thanks for visiting! I appreciate your kind words!

Work in Progress

Trying something different --- again:)

I had a canvas that started as a mixed media piece. I painted over it and just kept adding until I got this.
Not sure where to go from here. They flowers have several layers of paint as well as white pen and I even scratched some of the lines in.

What should i do next? I feel it needs some white somewhere. Splatters? More stamping or stencils? I would appreciate any ideas!!!
I might have to get another photo in the morning as the colors are a bit off here.

Thank you so much for visiting and for your comments! Really - leave me your ideas!!

Mom

I am up today over at the Helmar Blog and would love for you to check out my project!

My mom recently went to a nursing home and while it is nice, it is just not homey. So I made a frame for her with some pictures that I know mean a lot to her.

My mom was thrilled when she saw this and it is now hanging in her room!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit!

Ornament

I love the small 3 x 3 canvases. They are such fun for creating wonderful handmade projects such as this ornament!

I love this mixed media effect!

A little time for watercolors

I am participating with Grumbacher's ATC Swap titled Winter Wonderland.

Here is my scene

I am still learning to use my watercolors and to be patient! I want to keep going instead of letting them dry.

I'm Back

I am back from spending 2 1/2 weeks with my granddaughter. I miss her giggles, her exploring the world and being exhausted:):) It is hard work chasing a 7 month old who is crawling all over, trying to walk and into everything. She has the most gorgeous nails - just like her mom.

I needed to make a couple of thank you cards.

I am in love with this new stencil I got From Stamplorations! Stayed tuned because I will be giving one of these away before the holidays!!

Adding this to Simonsays Monday Challenge - thanks.

And thank you for visiting. I appreciate your kind words!
