Art Show

I was one of a group of artists who help a pop up art market in Rockford, Michigan this past Saturday. The Rogue River Artists are a local group of artists and we host shows/sales 4 times a year.

This summer pop up was hindered by extremely high temps, gusty winds, road construction and lack of parking. But, we made it through.

I enjoy visiting with the guests and love to hand bookmarks out to children.

Here are some of the works I had on display for sale.

Here is a look at my display.

If you were a customer or someone I chatted with, thank you!

Many items shown are available for purchase.

Thank you for your support.

I did not drop off the face of the earth

Wow - where did I go?!?

Last fall we bought a condo in Arizona to be closer to the grandkids. Well, it worked:)

Even though at 6 and 8 they are in school all day, we kept busy with occasional drop offs and picks ups. Then there are sports and lessons and activities. Plus with the gorgeous weather out there, I could get my 3 mile walk in every day. We also enjoyed meeting a couple of friends for walks and another couple for weekly dinners.

I set up a small art/craft area in one of the bedrooms but I did not get to use it as much as I would have liked.

got home in May and had about 10 days to get ready for a Viking Rhine Cruise. Our 50 th wedding anniversary was this past Saturday and the trip was to celebrate that.

We were home from that for almost two weeks, when we hosted three caddies who were here working at the LPGA Meijer Golf Tournament. We spent Thursday - Sunday of last week walking the course and following the different golfers. We enjoy hosting the guys and one of them has stayed with us for the past 5 years or so.

I have done a bit of scrapping - trying to catch up on memories from the past several years. I am also preparing for an art show this Saturday.

I will share a few photos of our trip, my latest scrapbooking projects and some of my art.

I appreciate anyone who still checks in occasionally. I will try to do better:)

Growing in Unity Day 5!!

I am proud to announce that I am Unity Stamp's Growing in Unity Girl this week. It is my pleasure to showcase some of their wonderful products and different ways to use them.

For those not familiar with Unity Stamp, this small family owned business offers over 60,000 sentiments and images all of which are produced in the USA. In addition they offer dies, paper and more!

Welcome to Day 5! I am sad to say that today is my final post for Unity. I hope you have enjoyed my projects. I appreciate the kind words and comments you have been leaving!

The holidays are over. For many winter is in full force which means being snowed in. The view out your windows and doors can be gray and dark. Feeling sad or even depressed is very normal at this time of year. What better way to brighten someone's day, than to send them a card letting them know you are thinking of them. And I have just the Unity products to make one!

I started my card base with the lovely check paper from the Rustic Christmas Paper pack. I added some shimmer to this background with thin gold tape stickers. Love the shine!

I grabbed one of my favorite stamps - Linen Flowers. Just look at the details in this floral spray.

I grabbed my red ink pad and stamped on vellum. Using metallic pens I added gold and green to the buds, centers and leaves. I turned the stamped image over and added a hit of pink to the back using watercolor paint brush pens. I wanted a very subtle effect.  Here is a close up of the finished image. The gold really adds a sparkle to it.

I fussy cut the sentiment and backed both with green cardstock.
I used thick foam adhesive to pop the flowers up.

I do think this will brighten my friend's day! What about you? Ready to make a card to brighten someone's day? Be sure to share with Unity on Facebook if you do!

And you have all brightened my days this week. Thank you for all of your kind words and comments. I hope you are inspired or maybe have learned some new ideas for how to use your papers and stamps.
Thank you Unity Stamps for allowing me to be a part of the Unity Girls!

Please stay tuned for the announcement of the gift card winners!

Growing in Unity Day 4!

I am proud to announce that I am Unity Stamp's Growing in Unity Girl this week. It is my pleasure to showcase some of their wonderful products and different ways to use them.

Welcome to Day 4! I hope you are still following along and commenting!

For those not familiar with Unity Stamp, this small family owned business offers over 60,000 sentiments and images all of which are produced in the USA. In addition they offer dies, paper and more!

Next on the calendar of holidays is Valentine's Day! It is the perfect time to create a handmade gift for those you love. You will be surprised with what you can create using paper, stamps and a small canvas.

I started with a small 3 x 3 inch canvas which I painted red. To that I added a small square of paper from the Krafty Deck the Halls Paper Pack .

I pulled out the darling fox stamp from the Warmth of Winter KOM

I stamped with Distress Oxide and painted it with watercolor before fussy cutting it.  I used the LOVE stamp but cut it apart to fit my surface. I finished with a couple of painted wood hearts and the sentiment stamp.

Now I need to grab a canvas and make another one so each grandchild will have one hanging on their door on Valentine's day!

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Now for the important part - don't forget to leave your comments all week here - and also on Facebook and Instagram -for a chance to win a $20 gift card to the Unity Store.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for my final project featuring Unity Stamp products!

Growing in Unity Day 3!

I am proud to announce that I am Unity Stamp's Growing in Unity Girl this week. It is my pleasure to showcase some of their wonderful products and different ways to use them.

Welcome to Day 3! And Happy New Year!

For those not familiar with Unity Stamp, this small family owned business offers over 60,000 sentiments and images all of which are produced in the USA. In addition they offer dies, paper and more!

Is everyone still with me this week? Thank you for all the kind words and comments.

The rush of the holidays are over and it is time to look forward to what comes next. My twin sister's birthday is in February. And while you might think Rustic Christmas is only for Christmas, you would be wrong. I thought the reds and the vintage feel would be perfect for a birthday card for my sister!

Using all of the patterns, I cut strips and layered them to make this diagonal design. I die cut flowers and created a tag for the sentiment using another pattern paper.  A bit of bling and twine completed the embellishments.

I can't wait to send this to her for her special day!

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Now for the important part - don't forget to leave your comments all week here - and also on Facebook and Instagram -for a chance to win a $20 gift card to the Unity Store.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another project featuring Unity Stamp products!
