Color your World Crop

Memorable Seasons is having a Color Your World Crop for National Scrapbook Day.

My challenge is now up. I am encouraging everyone to join in on the OMBRE bandwagon. This can be done with paint, mist, and paper. The best place to find ombre is at the hardware store. Go grab some colors!  I did:)

Pink Paislee Mistables paper was PERFECT for this. I used 3 colors of paint and a make up sponge to apply it. Those paint chips - banners and title mat!

Every time he comes home, our son just dotes on the dog. He wishes he could have one but is still not in that stage of his life where he can.

For my kit this month I chose Fancy Pants Down by the Shore!

Someday

Was time to do a new canvas. I have been scrapping and neglecting my art - canvases and journaling.

I have seen so many pretty flower ones so thought I might try one. The background is dictionary paper  and I just used acrylics for the background colors. I tried a stamp for a flower but did not like it after I stamped it . So out came the gesso and as I was applying it with a brush I realized it was beginning to look like a hydrangea!!!! So I made two more and added stems and leaves! So this is one mistake that turned into something beautiful:) I am actually quite proud of myself!

The Week That Was

I don't do a project life.  Since it is just the two of us and the dog, it would be rather boring. But, I was asked to complete something for Memorable Seasons so I journaled all about a rather eventful week. I used Fancy Pants Trendsetter and their envelopes - both clasp and tissue were just perfect to hold my journaling tags!

Going to the Dark Side

Last week Tracy went to the dark side and attempted a grungier look. I remembered that I had this fun G45 so thought I would try using it. I used watercolor paper and the background is watercolor which I let run, splatted, stamped, etc. To me it looks like the hand is winding up the man and letting him go so I found a quote

In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.

I am trying to finish my Christmas album and am using any and all sketches I can find!

Was perfect for this year's tree transformation. If you read my tree hunt post, you know that we did not have many options for choosing a tree. But this guy turned out pretty good anyway!

Christmas Eve Hike

I completed this layout for Sketch Challenge Tuesday at the Memory Nest using a pagemaps sketch

Here is my layout. I always save the little strips from the bottom of the papers so I used them for the frame. Chrstmas eve morning Mike, Jen, the dog and I took a hike in the park. It was cold but we enjoyed it anyway.
