Mackinac Island

I was asked to be a guest designer over at Myscrapsandmoresketches.

Here is the sketch

And as soon as I saw it, I knew what I wanted to do with it. Last summer we introduced Shawn to Mackinac Island. Cars are not allowed so jen and Shawn saddled up on horses and then later on a tandem bike! I included the ferry schedule and a map as well as ticket stubs.

Hope you give this sketch a try!

Adding this to The Crafty Scrapper  to use mists/paint.

Tired of snow so I made a canvas

I am getting so tired of the cold and snow. My daughter will be home this weekend so we are having an early Easter complete with egg dying and baskets. I needed a new canvas for the front hall.

Here is a close up of the flowers

I used my Lindy's Magicals from the Frosted Design store! Also used the pipette for the grass.

I made a layout using so many of my favorite things from the store! Besides the kits which are chock full of goodness - papers, flowers, paints, stencils, etc, I chose to highlight a few items which I use almost daily. Lindy's Magicals  are so much fun to play with! But, don't think they are just for art journals or canvases! I used them on my layout! Just ink the edges with Versamark and brush the paint on for a wonderful shimmer! I also used the Magicals to color my flowers to match. I love the Tim Holtz Faded Dot Stencil with I used with Gesso on the mat behind the photo. Don't forget that the store has your favorite scrappy supplies such as the Pink Paislee Color Wash Vellum border and the Wood Camera Veneers from Studio Calico.

So there you have it -- a few of my favorite things!! all on one layout!

Now, before you leave and I hope you have made it to the end of this post! Here is your scrambled word-

VEARDEYY MSOENMT (HINT* It's located under "Project Life Inspired" in the FD store here http://frosted-designs.com/collections/project-life))

Big Sister

I knew when I saw my Moment in Time kit that  I wanted to somehow combine the pink and blue. And then I remembered one of my favorite photos of Jen holding Rob just after he was born.

I started with this Pagedrafts sketch.

And here is my layout

I made paper curly ques for the stems and hearts for the leaves.

I am posting this to Scrapourstash Scrap A thon Birthday challenge 2 to use a doily. I have a handful of them under the photo!

Diamonds

When I saw this month's kit from Frosted Designs I knew immediately what layout I needed to create!

Jennifer was engaged in October and I needed to scrap her ring photos.

I used this sketch from StuckSketches

I rotated it counterclockwise

I was not sure what to do with the Silks Acrylics Glaze in African Jade but it did not take long for me to start applying it to the pattern papers adding a lovely layer of shine! I painted the some of the flowers and butterflies and highlighted the diamonds on the border piece. It may not show up in the photo but I also stamped with it on the background paper. It also added a  wonderful layer under the word stickers.

The papers in this kit are just wonderful and you need this glaze!

Motorboatin

For years we have owned an old 16 ft. motorboat. It was difficult to get into which prohibited my mom and sisters from having a tour of the lake. Well, in 2013 we got a Pontoon boat! and happily took the family for a ride!! My mom wheeled her walked down the dock and climbed on.

I used this sketch from the Letsgetsketchy hop.

This was posted on Chelsea's blog with a twist to use a paperclip

Here is my layout

I have a Maya road clip.

A Moment in Time

This month's kit at Frosted Designs is another amazing collection of papers, embellies and stamps and paint!!

And the title made me grab some of those old MOMENTS IN TIME Photos!

These photos are from Easter 1986 when Jennifer was 3! I love seeing her laugh and play with her dad!

This is for Brandi's monthly kit challenge to use three of the following:

     one word title
     black background
     chipboard
     flowers
     ribbon

I have the black background, one word title, and flowers. My letters are chipboard and that is a May Arts Ribbon from the kit so I think I used them all!!

I used a sketch from Letsgetsketchy and am entering this in their Sketch A Thon Blog Hop

Also adding this to Scrapourstash Brithday Challenge 1.

Band of Brothers

I have a sketch for you today from Stucksketches

Here is another one of my fave photos from Christmas! Rob( my son, left) and Shawn ( my daughter's fiance) spent time bonding. We opened our presents late on Christmas eve. When we finished the girls were tired and went to bed. Rob and Shawn decided to have a drink and spend time bonding. Well, seems they did not go to bed until 3am even though Jen and Shawn had to be up at 5 am for an early flight!

I am sharing this with SWAT Drill Challenge 27 - to use mixed media on a project.

I added drywall tape which I smeared with Gelatos. The gears were made with modeling paste and a stencil. I used paint with a roller stamp for the arrows. Think that is all my mixed media for this one.

Frosted Designs Store has Gelatos, Modeling paste as well as stencils!
