Altered Frame

I found an inexpensive frame at Good Will and thought it would be fun to alter it for the newlyweds. It was basically an off white with a large center for a photo.

First I applied a layer of gesso using a stencil.

After a light layer of paint, I sanded to reveal the pattern. There is also a layer  of stamping. Embellishments include hydrangeas and birds  - both the bride's favorites.  I used burlap and twine which were also part of the wedding decor.

(I do apologize for the faint stripes in the photo. My printer was running out of ink)
