We hunkered down and hoped it would soon melt. Sadly Thursday was still the same.
Our son called to stay their power was out and headed to our house. Before they arrived, our power went out too. Luckily we have a fireplace in our family room but with temps in the single digits it was difficult to keep even that room warm. My son ended up getting his power back so they headed home. We stayed at our house and by morning temps in the house were in the low 50s.
We gave up and went to his house, where we have been until late last night when our power came back on. Temps in the house were low 40s inside but we were happy to get back home.
I had been reworking that watercolor board I had started. Here is the progress.
It is coming along.
Better late than never, I am adding this to PaintPartyFriday.
Be sure to stop over there for wonderful inspiration!
Sometimes winter in all of its beauty, as your photos show, can be cruel to we mere humans who need a bit of heat to survive its moody changes :)
ReplyDeleteLove your painting!!!
Such a lovely contrast to those icy but gorgeous photos~

So sorry you had to deal with all that. I forget where you live, but it’s obviously not near me, as we rarely have temperatures in the low 40’s outdoors, let alone indoors. But we don’t get the beautiful ice like you showed either. Anyway, glad you’re back home and creating.
ReplyDeleteThe icy photos look beautiful, but without electricity and heating, of dear! Love the watercolour painting. Look after yourself, hugs, Valerie
