Growing in Unity Day 2!

Happy Tuesday and New Year's Eve!

Welcome to Day 2!

I am proud to announce that I am Unity Stamp's Growing in Unity Girl this week. It is my pleasure to showcase some of their wonderful products and different ways to use them.

For those not familiar with Unity Stamp, this small family owned business offers over 60,000 sentiments and images all of which are produced in the USA. In addition they offer dies, paper and more!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday!

Before we toast the New Year, it is time to document one of our favorite activities - hunting for the perfect Christmas Tree.  We literally walk two blocks to a church down the street from my grandkid's house where they sell live Christmas trees. The kids enjoy a scavenger hunt for a stuffed owl while trying to find a large tree to bring home.

Since I didn't have a pattern paper perfect for the background, I created my own! I adhered the Krafty Deck the Halls Paper to a white sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock leaving a white border on the sides. I added the green strip aper from Rustic Christmas

To create the evergreen branches, I grabbed the stamps from the Whispering Pines Stamp Set.

I stamped using Distress Oxide ink, added watercolors to the branches and pinecones and fussy cut them out. I scattered them on the sides and added branches by the finished tree.

The Season of Definition consist of tiles of festive words complete with pronunciation and definition. These were the perfect embellishment for the layout. Wood buttons, a few leaves and and twine completed my embellishments.

I need to remember to use stamps more often on my layouts. I love how this turned out!

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Now for the important part - don't forget to leave your comments all week here - and also on Facebook and Instagram -for a chance to win a $20 gift card to the Unity Store.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another project featuring Unity Stamp products!

Growing in Unity! Day 1

I am truly sorry for having neglected this blog but I am back today as this week's  Unity Girl!

Welcome to Day 1!

I am going to start the week with a little thank you card. The presents have been unwrapped and it is time to get those thank you notes in the mail. The  Rustic Christmas Paper Collection has the perfect patterns for these cards. I used two pieces of the paper for the background and added the sentiment to a tag which I decorated with a flower cluster and bow.

This little note will brighten someone's day.

Time for Scrapping

In just a few days, we will be leaving to spend the winter out west. I was packing up scrapbook supplies to bring but instead sat down and got to work.  Cleaning and packing can wait until tomorrow:)

My grandson is all about Transformers which was the obvious choice for his birthday them this year.

I grabbed Graphic 45's Come One and All to document the event. I printed and fussy cut some of his favorites. We created Optimus Prime using cupcakes and pieces of a large balloon that we cut and backed with fondant. It was a hit!

I am working on a few other layouts. If I finish I will share!

I appreciate your stopping by and for the kind words!

Happy Thanksgiving

The turkey is in the oven and the house smells amazing!

Taking a moment to reflect on how much I have to be grateful for. Children who are employed and own their own homes. Everyone is healthy. There are two grandchildren who keep us very busy and bring smiles and joy.

We are celebrating Christmas with our son today as we will be heading to Arizona next week. He made these turkeys in 2nd grade

I am also grateful to those of you who stop by just to look and or to leave comments! I appreciate you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello

  Hello!

Let me reintroduce myself. Seems I have been gone and neglected my poor blog!

Life is busy especially now with 2 grandchildren. Lauren is 7 and Reilly is 5. They reside in Arizona which means we have been spending quite a bit of time there. For the past 5 years we have rented and or stayed with the kids for most of the winter.

I am happy to say we now own a condo in Chandler! It is close to the grandkid's house and their school. We got it all furnished in the two weeks we were there in August. We will be heading back out there shortly for most of the winter.

This had obviously impacted my creative time but I did just participate in the Rogue river Artists Association Holiday Art Market. It was a great show and I happily sold many of my cards as well as a few paintings.

I am still trying to get some scrapping done as well. I have SOOOO many photos of the grandkids that I will never be caught up!

Here are this year's  first day of school pics and the annual school photos.

It seems I disappeared

And another year has come and gone. I started a post in November which is still in draft.

This is what happens when your grandkids live across the country and you spend most of the winter there and then fly back and forth the rest of the year. But, I wouldn't have it any other way!

We have been back since May. The littles turned 7 and 5 this spring:) They are growing up so fast. Lauren has no front teeth! She has replaced her dolls with Little Live Pets.  Reilly still has his trains but he is playing with Transformers more and more each day.

The art group is having a Pop Up Market on June 22. Since we returned from Arizona I have been busy getting ready for this. I have

I have new paintings and cards. Should be a fun day!
