We had an art group meeting Tuesday night and by the end of it, I feeling very inadequate. I am not trained in art in any way shape or form. I create canvases with paint, paper, etc but am feeling I need to up my game. My problem has been, how? I am taking a class so have been working on creating flirty birdies. Again, feeling I am just not getting it. I enjoy creating but also find it frustrating. When I wads younger, I loved abstract paintings and when I saw this I new exactly what I wanted to do.

I did not over think it. I just went with my feelings. Maybe, just maybe, I have found what I was searching for.
DO you struggle? How have you gotten past it? I'd love to hear from you. Thank you for visiting!

ReplyDeleteFun!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful piece of art!! Never give up, just find new strength in what you do, it may not be what you did in previous years, EMBRACE TODAY... and go forward!!
ReplyDeleteJean,
ReplyDeleteFirst, we LOVE that you participate in our Magazine Mondays challenges and your work is always wonderful!
I do know what you mean about feeling "inadequate" and I would be willing to bet even the best, trained artists feel that way from time to time (or at least did as they were honing their craft).
I believe the best art comes from us when we just let it happen and don't try too hard.
I would love to belong to a local art group and to have the opportunity to chat about such things - perhaps 2016 is the year we start such a group (and online discussion group) at PCC?!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this...
Have a great week, my artist friend!
Steph
I love it! Just this week I was thinking of all the great artists who never had any training. It all came from within. Keep listening to your heart and let if flow. I so admire your talent and diversity!
