Card

I tend to grab sketches for many of my projects.

I saw this fun one at StickitDown

And here is my card

The hearts are hand painted and stamped with bubble wrap. The background is a fun printed deli like paper that was a gift from a friend years ago.

I love using bubble wrap and I used a piece of paper that is at least 4 years old.

Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate your visit!

ATC

ATC's are a wonderful way to practice painting because it is a smaller size! I have been participating in Grumbacher's  ATC swaps. Most of the time there is a theme for the 2.5 x 3.5 cards and it can eb done in any medium.

This month's theme is the 50s. For some reason a record player popped into my head. Here is my card. I used water colors for this.

Adding this to PaintPartyFriday.

NBUS

I am playing along with my friend Darnell and her NBUS Challenge

NBUS is never before used schtuff. I think we all have these in our craft rooms. The other part of this challenge was hidden words.

I grabbed a brand new embossing folder that had words on it. After embossing, I misted my paper and punched out Scalloped circles. I made these into flowers. I sanded one word out of the embossing.

This was a fun card to make!

Bump

My daughter is 6 months pregnant and I love photographing her bump! I got out paints and inks and stencils and created the background using two different heart stencils!! . Even used washi tape! Sequins were the finishing touches.

This sketch is from Scrapping-clearly

Adding this to Mixedmediamc To put a Stencil on it!

Joining in on the Simonsays Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes!

I will be visiting Jen again in 2 weeks and can't wait to see the bump again:)

Thank you

I was playing today with Ken Oliver Stitched Water Media cards from Canvas Corp Brands

Ken Oliver Stitched Water - Media Greeting Cards
These are wonderful surfaces for paints, mists, and so much more!

I wanted to make a thank you card and used a variety of media products!

I masked stripes using tape. I painted with ColourArte Twinkling H2Os. These shimmery paints are so pretty!

I used my Dreamweaver butterfly stencil and Ranger Texture Paste to create a glorious butterfly. I mixed Colourarte's Vivid Ultra Metallics Dragon Gold in the paste. Once dry I painted the butterfly with Teal Zircon Ultra Metallics and outlined the body and edges with Colourarte's Smokey Diamond. In this close up you can see the wonderful colors and texture!

I am adding this to Simon Says Monday Challenge - Spread Your Wings.
Also adding this to MixedMediaMC  - Put a stencil on it.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! Your comments mean more to me than you can ever know.

I won't be the Baby Anymore?

My daughter is expecting our first grandchild - a girl - in April. She has a dog who is going to have a very hard time adjusting!

Santino is glued to her - always in her arms or lying on her. Can't wait for him to meet the bundle of joy!

Sketch is from DCWV and I used 3 of their stacks.

Thank you for visiting!

Handprints and Footprints

In case you have not heard me mention it, we are expecting our first grandchild in early April. I have already been completing projects for her - yes it is a girl! I saw something in the store to preserve their hand and foot prints, so grabbed my canvases and paper and made my own keepsakes.

The writing says

Someday I'll be big and gone upon my way, here's my little handprint to remind you of this day.
This precious pair of little feet, belong to someone very sweet.

Once she is here, I will add the date and other details such as her name. Once we stamp the images, I will seal it.

Adding this to Simon Say's  Wednesday Challenge - Anything but a Card.

Thank you so very much for stopping by!

Thank you card

Still working on some thank you cards so I grabbed this sketch From SketchNScrap

Here is my card

Instead of banner shapes, I made tags. Sketches really help me pull a card together quickly and easily! Stop over by SketchNscrap for both card and layout sketches!

Thank you for visiting!

NBUS

I had a few minutes to play today and I thought of the NBUS Challenge #8 over at Darnell's blog

Besides using never before used schtuff, the challenge was to use kraft and colored pencils.

Here is my card

I used brand new colored pencils. I do not believe I have ever colored like that on kraft. I am happy with the way this sweet card came out!

Thank you for visiting! Your comments bring a smile to my face.

Thank you

NOw that the holidays are over it is time to to work on those thank you notes!

This one was sort of simple but fun! I used water color paper and created a background by painting and misting and painting and misting until I had the colors swirled around. I then die cut it.

I added paint splatters to the card background.

I love how this turned out!

Just playing

Tonight I spent some time just playing. Having faith in myself and the watercolors.

I was inspired by PCC's Magazine Monday #167

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 167 Inspiration Piece (image)

And here is what I did in my art journal. I wanted it to have a loose feel and just played for the fun of it! I still need to work on my drawing and painting and I am often too hesitant to put my works out there. This year I want to embrace each piece - the good, the bad and the ugly.

Adding this to PaintPartyFriday where there are amazing talented painters!

I hope you enjoy her! Thank you for visiting!

Word for 2017

It is that time of year to pick a word for the year. Something to motivate you. Something you strive for.

I chose the word FAITH - as in faith in myself and my abilities. Faith in whatever path I choose. I hope to hush the voices in my head and the doubts that creep up when I try to work.

I created a mixed media piece for my word. I have book paper, burlap paper, kraft paper, and pattern paper. I have stencils and mists.  To be honest - this is the fifth attempt at this project. My faith left me for a while but I finally was able to clear my heart and mind and create! I am so happy with this!

I used a variety of Canvas Corp Brand products for this! I have 7 Gypies Wanderlust Pattern Paper, 7 Gypsies Global Paper Tape, and Tattered Angels Metallics Mists.

I used this  Mary Nasser stencil from StencilGirl.

This reminds me to have faith in myself  no mater what route or path I take.
