I had a bit of time to play with gelatos, paints, and stencils to make a canvas. I am trying to more at ease with my painting and created these flowers. They have a mixture of paints and even some Pink Sugar!
Adding this to Faber Castell's Take the challenge with Mou. April showers do bring May flowers. Around here we should have lots of flowers based on the rain we have had!
Thank you for the challenge and thanks for visiting!

Take a Chance
Have you ever tried a new technique? Used a product a new way?
PCC issued a Take a Chance challenge so I took Steph up on it! As luck would have it, I met up with a friend yesterday who gave me a brand new bag of Bleeding Art Tissue paper. I had never heard of it so scoped it out online.
Well, let me say how fun this is! You can cut it or tear it and place it on a sheet of white paper. Once you wet it - the colors bleed and run!! You never know what the result will be.
Word of warning - this would be a great kids project HOWEVER YOUR HANDS WILL TURN ALL SORTS OF COLORS! My hands did come clean when I washed the dishes after dinner:)
Here are some of the backgrounds I created
And here is the card I turned one into
I chose to turn some of the purple into flowers by stamping over them.
I am looking forward to trying this on my mixed media canvases. You could also use it for scrapbook layouts and so much more.
Thanks PCC for the challenge and thanks for stopping by!!

Travel Journal
My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary last year. For some time, he had planned a trip for he and I and our 2 children. Well, first one got engaged, then the other. Then Jennifer got married followed nine months later by Rob. So the year got away from us and time did not allow a family vacation. But this year, we are going including both children and their spouses!!
I wanted to have something to take with me so I could document our daily activities including hotels, restaurants, etc. I made a journal to take with me!
You can check out the entire project over at CanvasCorpBrands.
Cannot wait to document each and every day!!!

This was fun
I wanted to play along with this week's PCC magazine Monday inpsiration. Here is the inspriation
And here is my card! I created a watercolor background and then thought I would try to find a skyline to cut out. Even better, I found this cool digital image from Grand Rapids ( we live just outside of the city) by Michael Tompsett. I ran my paper through and printed his image directly on my background!
I lvoe the way this turned out!

Try to Resist
Jumping in over at Simonsays MOnday challenge to use a resist. I started with a tag which I randomly painted. Then I used clear gesso over a stencil followed by a layer of black paint over the stencil. I love the end result!
Thanks for making me try something new!!

In Loving Memory
For some reason, last week I took to scrapping again! I ordered a ton of prints and have so many events to catch up on. I loved this photo of Bandit. Two years ago we got rid of our old small motor boat and bought a used pontoon boat. I think Bandit loved that boat more than anyone in the family. He would stand in the front and let his ears blow ( think Leo in Titanic) and would eventually even just lay down and rest. He would get really mad if anyone took the boat out without him. It was a sad day in November when we lost him. It was just 10 days shy of his 15th birthday. We will miss him this year when we get the boat out.
I used an Old Webster's Pages paper titled Best Friends.
Thank you for stopping visiting today! I appreciate your support.

April Showers
April showers bring May flowers and handmade paper ones too! It was too cold and wet and rainy to get outside, so I made my own flowers instead.
Come over to Arnold Grummer's to see how I did it!!!

Flowers
This was so out of my comfort zone! I created a very textured and dramatic background which I stamped with a thick layer of gesso. Stamp by Penny Black.
Adding this to Craftstamper April Spring Flower Challenge.
Our poor flowers were covered in 3 inches of snow yesterday which melted today. Now it is pouring. I hope they will be all right tomorrow.

April Fool's Day Boo Boo Hop
Happy April Fool's Day!
I am taking part in a Boo Boo Blog Hop! Ever make something and then have a big boo boo that you either had to over up or start over? Well, that is what we are celebrating in this hop!
This is the brain child of the talented Darnell over at DJKardKreations.
Here is my lovely boo boo. See it? The finger tip mark just above the green background paper. I sent the card and ignored it:)
